Around 80K for 3 games so far
at least that many again for the next 5 , maybe more
looking good for a 20K plus average for the round.

Great crowd in Brisbane. In the next deal, the NRL should look to push back the Friday start times. 6:20 pm and 8:10pm. On TV the end of one game will jump straight into the start of the other. You then hook more viewers into watching both. The extra twenty minutes will improve the early game crowds.
I agree. 6pm is too early for attending the game and even for maximising viewers getting home on a Friday night. Unless we had two NZ teams that owned 6pm it should move to 6.20 pm.

A second NZ side could split up the slot with the Warriors, as well as throw in teams like the Knights, Raiders and Illawarra with one off games in locations where traffic isn’t as big a nightmare, like games played in rural towns. Then you have Good Friday etc and that’s a whole season scheduled. There is an advantage in marketing that slot towards families, as the game is over just after eight, kids in bed by nine and you’ve got the rest of the weekend to do what you want.

Btw there was only one sell out in Brisbane last night and that was for the NRL. According to Aus Stadiums the fumbles had at least 7,700 empty seats.
Theoretically if Suncorp had a capacity of 80k, do you think they go close to filling it? Was being put out into the media as being sold out a week before the game.

It was one of those events that you possibly could have sold 100K+ to if you had the capacity. First ever clash between the two teams, both teams in form, plenty of stories leading into the game (Bennett versus his old club, can Milford redeem himself, etc), Broncos pouring fuel on the fire saying the Dolphins aren't a Brisbane team, etc.

It was a perfect storm of lead in hype and unlikely to be repeated in the same way again, but still the fixture will hopefully become like Broncos v Cowboys, a regular 40K+ crowd,

Ideal scenario for the game would be if we could make Broncos v Dolphins, Broncos v Cowboys, Broncos v Titans, Dolphins v Titans and Dolphins v Broncos all regular 40K fixtures at Suncorp Stadium.

It's no joke, why are they taking the magic round to Brisbane? And not Sydney? Coz they get better crowds then we do. Love to see three days of magic round in Homebush, and will Sydney people turn up like Brizzy fans? Probably not...

They wouldn't turn up for homebush

SFS would sell out 3 days in a row though

If that's the case then they should have magic round in Sydney for bloody once, but they never do for some reason..

Only a matter of time IMO, like everything else, magic round in Brisbane will lose its luster at some point and not get the same crowds it once did.

I would have a 3 year rotation of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. That 3rd year can potentially be rotated with Adelaide and Perth ad well.
