Rented Anora on the weekend.

Was enjoyable but the middle section could have cut some time.

I picked Igor as being the character to ground the shenanigans, his little 'whats up' and body language on his introduction gave it away

The Electric State (on Netflix)
News.com are calling the worst movie in living memeory - unlike them to exaggerate . In the same article they call Netflix "no good Netflix", can't help themselves.
The movie is obviously just a fun kids movie and robots are popular with kids at the moment. I enjoyed it, simple fare with two likeable leads and an ok story. 6/10

The Informer (on SBS on demand)
This was pretty good, a decent thriller starring Joel Kinnaman who was great in the original Altered Carbon and The Killing series. He's a really good actor but needs some more challenging roles. The end is a bit iffy but still a good watch. 6.5/10
Have you seen For All Mankind? Kinnaman is really good in that, turned me around on him after only seeing him in movies.

Mickey 17 - interesting concept but very muddled. Like it tries to throw everything possible into the mix - sci-fi, comedy, romance, politics, crime thriller. Pattinson is good but it kind of misses the mark with everything...

The Order on Amazon. 8 Really enjoyed it, based on a true story of some white supremicists in the 80s

Target 1985. Gene Hackman, Matt Dillon
Thought I'd rewatch it in honour of Hackman's passing
When an actor that I like passes away, I actually go out of my way to watch 4 movies of theirs that I've never seen as a tribute. For Hackman I did Crimson Tide, Hoosiers, The Birdcage and Under Suspicion.

Just watched The Boys 1998 Aussie movie staring David Wenham & Toni Colette

Often I’ll see a movie called ‘disturbing’ watch it and think ‘what the f**k was disturbing about that?’

I didn’t with this, yeah it’s disturbing AF

Plane trip so caught uo on some.

Emilio Perez. 8 I liked it but can see why some wouldn't. If they took the odd song and dance out it goes up half to a full star

Anora. 9 Loved it and not.just not the t & a. Stripper hooks up with rich Russian lid. Once the Armenians show up hilarity ensues.

Pretty in Pink. 6. One i missed in thag era and was not good. Dotn know why it is still mention occasionally. Though my crush on Molly Ringwald remains strong.

War of the Rohirrim. 7.5. Much better than expected and worth a watch if a LOTR fan. Otherwise skip.

I started watching Dirty Grandpa on Netflix and gave up after less than 30 minutes. I'm not a prude, far from it but this poor excuse for entertainment is just excessively and deliberately crude and repugnant and lacking any subtlety or wit whatsoever. DeNiro really disappoints and not only for the fact he agreed to do this in the first place. The crassness and the loathesome characters seem to be borne out of the freaks and boofheads you see on Reality TV shows.
Just horrible, really , really horrible. 1/10

Watched Gunslingers …if you think Nick Cage has been in some horrendous movies then wait till you see this .
Words cannot describe his character 😂
the plot seemed interesting but the CGI …the acting & the Cage character are laughable .
2/10 .
lol i only kept watching to see if it could get any worse.
it did .

Nick Cage is a real enigma, he's either inexplicably good or horrendously ridiculous and lately tending to be the latter.
Wild At Heart and Raising Arizona are among my favourite films and others like The Rock, Con Air, 8mm are pretty solid but the last 15 years or so he's jumped aboard so many dud projects/scripts and made them all worse by just trying too hard I think. I've actually given up on him - I gave him plenty of chances but now, nah, I'll pass.
