Hey guys,
We've just been advised that we (WT's) have signed KPP from next year for 3 years from 2026.
May I ask your thoughts?
Are you glad to get rid of him.
Wished he was staying.
Cheers, all the best for the rest of the season.

Would have been happy to keep him, but we paid him far too much the last two years for what he produced.

We have a number of promising backrowers coming through and have committed huge money elsewhere, I think thats why he wasn't re-signed.

I'm guessing retired or a public servant paid by the tax payer. The bloviated posts suggest the latter. Either way try doing something useful.
You're posting on the same forum you dingbat.

But if you'd like to do something useful, I have some similar tough questions to the ones you posted.

What if there was a dog on the field and people booed, would they be dogphobic?

What if everyone in the crowd booed because they're all actually ghosts?

What if someone drove onto the field in a car and ran over all the players and the car had a BOO IF YOU'RE HORNY bumper sticker? Would they be booing about the vehicular homicide or would they be booing because they're horny?

What if anything did anything about anything? Would that make them everything?

Idiot.

Has all the physical tools and skills but for some reason can't seem to put it all together for more than a game out of every 4 or 5. Good defender in contact but also gets caught flat-footed at times. I was really excited about him at the start of last year when he had a purple patch of form but just hasn't kicked on.

Of course a different environment/coach/playing style and more experience and he could turn that potential into something real.

Won't let you down on the defence/effort/work rate front, but he was signed to be an attacking weapon & that hasn't eventuated, for whatever reason.

Decent chance he's got more in him than he's shown.

I echo the thoughts above that letting him go is more about correcting misallocated cap than anything Kai has done wrong per se, we shouldn't be dropping a big paycheck on a back rower. I don't know what the Tigers' cap situation is, but you've already got a pretty good pack from what I've seen so I would have some optimism that it's a good pickup for your mob.

At the Knights - we desperately need middles, May and Pole are both better than anything we've got for example - and that's where we should be investing whatever is left of Kai's money.

Best of luck to the Tigers too mate.

If you can get out of him what he provided in the second half last night, you will have a great value, high impact backrower on your hands with a high ceiling.

The worst case scenario you will get is a strong defender that frustrates you constantly because he looks like he doesn't realise his own size and talent with the ball most of the time.

He is not a hard line runner. He is lanky and quite strong (and very tall and rangy). He's the kind of backrower that gets tangled up in the line and pops an offload - at least in a perfect world.

He hasn't provided us good value for his 750k contract, which is why he's walking as we're not willing to offer him that again. He's not a bad player though and I feel like there's more to him that the Knights have failed to leverage. I don't hate him in our team though, I just wish we were paying him less.

Like most on here I think, I wish him the best and hope the move works out for him. It'll be a bit frustrating if he does kick on elsewhere after we've invested the time and patience into him, but he's left us in an awkward spot where he's just not good value.

Just to put a bow on the AOB stuff, I'm sure he *thought* he was defending his players but there are many ways to do that without digging yourself a massive hole with loyal fans. Several people in this forum have already worded it much better than he did, it was clumsy and arrogant at best to attack the fans like that after the football the team has been dishing up.

But in the end it's probably worked out ok because the players will feel like he defended them and now we have the "apology", whatever that's worth. Knowing AOB he would probably claim that was his plan all along...

I'm surprised the triggered snow flakes haven't come out and condemned the booing as being misandrist - shocking

If they booed the NRLW team would they be misogynists ?

If they booed the welcome to country - racists?

Or are they people exercising their rights in a free country? Rude, impolite and offensive? yeh.

The coach shows passion for his team and defends them - the triggered snow flakes go ballistic - better he gives boring PC answers.

I'm fairly certain if a poll was conducted it would show the snow flakes clicking the same "news" outlet pushing the narrative. What a divisive, hypersensitive, and toxic culture Australia has become.
Fascinating. You truly are a lunatic. I love it. It's been a while since we've had a proper one in this forum and we have a long line of them honestly.

This would be my main concern with losing him. In Sharpe and Brown we finally have a couple of guys sniffing around for offloads and KPP is our probably our best in that regard (at least in theory).

Maybe he reflected on his actions and came up with it himself?

Some sweeping assumptions in this whole forum when in reality we have no idea what happens inside the club.
Where have we seen sweeping assumptions recently? Directly from AOBs mouth perhaps?

It's got nothing to do with this forum. It's human nature. Most people do it.

He’s a good player, big rangy second rower with an offload which doesn’t get used enough (possibly due to our coach)

He hasn’t hit his full potential yet but he’s proven that at worst he’s a solid NRL player.
