It's going off in freezing Canberra. Souths led 12-0, but it's all Raiders now at 36-12 and Papa scoring a double and converting the second in his record-breaking game.

(319 games, beating Jason Croker's 318).

10-all, halftime. Good game between Wests and Penrith. Luai's having plenty to say against his former club, particularly the newer players!

...what a bloody ridiculous penalty given to Penrith for a Luai 'late' shot on the kicker. He wasn't late but apparently the ref had to give it.

12-10, Penrith, but a rort...and it changed the momentum and scoreboard, one dud blow of the whistle. 18-10...

In this pretty remarkable season so far I'm not sure we want Penrith around at the business end.
They’re not as good as they were, but have playoff improvement in them (plus they are impacted by origin and can’t rest people)… and everyone is ON when they play them… will be interesting for sure

I was thinking the same thing...they're the wounded prey you want to fully knock on the head, lest they find a second wave and come back to bite you

Parra and Tigers both had the chance to effectively end their season, but couldn't.

Our turn in two weeks.

If we beat them after the bye, they’ll need to win at least 7, maybe 8 of their remaining 10. But 4 of those games are against the Dogs (twice), Canberra and Melbourne. Tough ask even for their title winning teams.

Not sure they’ll need to win that many this year, they are currently 1 point outside of the top 8
Yea that's just based on the last couple years under a 17 team comp with 3 byes where cut-off for finals has been 30-32 points.

They're effectively on 17 pts now incl. their remaining byes, so still need 7 more wins to hit 31.

Being hungover I wasn't in the best mood (I haven't been to a party for a while, was first there, last to leave, too weak - post-surgery - to go to Shark Park, but I wasn't missing a party six doors down) but I just couldn't even look at the Panthers yesterday. The Clearys, Edwards, Yeo, To'o, Leota, even players like Tago, yuck.

They've been there five years non-stop. Most neutrals want change. This is the year.

Oh, and Martin, Liam Martin. I'd forgotten about him. I don't want him anywhere near my TV screen or coming over the airwaves on my go-to platform, ABC Radio.

I need a break from the whole club. It's nothing personal. My fear is they'll stuff up what's shaping up to be an extraordinary year.
