I went and sat on the hill there one day many years ago, was a nice train trip.

When you hit the top of that hill and see the south coast before you is magic. Same with going north to Gosford, weaving your way along the Hawkesbury. I've done that one for a game, an inspired decision in 2016, with the Warriors winning in golden point.

Fifty put on Souths by Redcliffe. Put a line through Bennett's Bunnies.

Canberra are top. That's a significant shift and it could be their year. They were my team but aren't anymore. Thirty years ago now, too much water under the bridge. Nothing left for the old flame, is another way of putting it.

I did love them though.

Manly have moved Jake Arthur to Newcastle, just what they need, another below average NRL half lol. Presumably that spot will be used to get Tallyn Da Silva in

Horror show.

Another horror show is the Warriors offloading Katoa. He's on fire for Melbourne today. A tremendous kick/chase proponent.

24-6, Storm...some big Nelson brilliance and the Storm are in for another, 30-6. Final. Melbourne finish with 12 men too. Just like the Tigers on Friday. They ran out of interchange. It's all good until it's a tight finish!

Da Silva's off to the Eels on a four-year deal. Whatever a 'four-year deal' means to him and his management.

24-18, Cowboys, but a fast-finishing Titans are making a thriller out if it. Payten would be feeling sick, his side had it in the bag at 24-6!

Twelve mins left...Tino drops it, is his mind on Origin? Cowboys seize on the chance and score, 30-18...

Kelly scores and converted from the sideline! 30-24, three mins left...Payten is having a hellish moment down there near the field...and then a brain-explosion from Kelly, who let that roll over the sideline, with his teammates yelling 'stop it!' (As touched by Tino). Game over. The Cowboys hung on.

Let’s down by the Tits yet again, and it was the biggest tit of them all Tino which killed their chances off

Poor old Des, even when they scored to get back within 6, he looked miserable lol, he knew what was coming

PW, good luck in Melbourne, or should I say AFL nut country! Your safe space is AAMI Park, at least you'll have that.

I should warn you that I've heard Collingwood are fancying themselves this year. I've also heard there's nothing more insufferable than that. Cheers!

Good info from the journos then lol. Interesting to see what happens with that young hooker the Eels already have thete
Ryley Smith looks the absolute goods.

I believe he was also a very very good opening batter. Given Australia's struggles, he may end up opening the batting in the Ashes latter this year!

Another winless round for the Warriors. It sucks the life out of the whole competition, eh? But, as fans, we should be more resilient.

Rd 17 Ladder:

Oh my, wonders never cease, we're still top four! A bye next week, a win over the Tigers the week following, and we stay there.

Canberra go top, that's really nice news. But for how long? Could this season see Melbourne never be top of the ladder? We've always presumed they're the best team.

Oh, and here come Penrith. Oh, and also look at Souths. Second last. That's sort of crept up on us.

There's something else there too, which should be deeply concerning to the NRL and the fans especially. Look at the bottom of the ladder, it's like the late-90s all over again. The NRL wants to expand but it has an original expansion team dead last, with four core Sydney sides just ahead of them. Souths, Wests (remember, they're Balmain and Magpies) and Parramatta.

The only reason late-90s panic stations aren't happening is that those struggling sides still have 'bums on seats'. But, any hint of tumbleweeds and look out.

What a little flog Galvin is, had a huge cry about social media posts about him, but happily had a dig at the Tigers on social media today
