NRL Rd 19 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

And as has been said this week they’ve let a bunch of decent halves leave, guess that was partly Ash Taylor? Dunno but aside from with Hos and a veteran team they’ve been appalling, notably atm where they have talent and a proven coach
Pretty sure Sexton was after Taylor, Fogarty may have been as well ?

Really poorly built squad at the moment, plenty of talent there but not balanced in the right places. Have been hearing for years what an exceptional leader Tino is, not really showing through at all there

Yeah Taylor probably longer ago than I thought initially…. Poor stuff, wasn’t Meninga part of this mess? I feel for the Bears

The Sharks are back on track with a good 24-12 win. I'm worried about the log-jam mid-table. The Warriors could get stuck in that.

It was either us or the Eels that saw the most underwhelming version. Or was he a bit forgettable at the Dogs too?

If so, that makes his bookended clubs his best.

(Manly and GC).
Eels was a train wreck, his life was in an awful state at that time. Warriors there weren’t any good reports, remember a staff member describing him as the most disagreeable guy they’d had at the club. Dogs be started to get back on track but nailed by injury. Cut price deal back under Des at Manly he was outstanding again

We were talking about NRL cards a while back. I did a deal with my lad that he can get a packet per try. Well I’m getting absolutely fleeced, he is only playing half a game a week but my payout over the last 6 weeks has been 4, 4, 3, 2, 3, 3. Now I don’t mind and am right into it and reliving my youth, but the wife is absolutely filthy about it, complete waste of money apparently lol.

This morning he pulled out an autograph card of one of the titans ladies, only 43 of them produced so stoked with that, here are some of his other favourites, the gold one is a limited run card and he loves the Luciano insert IMG_9505.jpegC9F83DA4-1B11-43A1-A24F-92ACB2539EF7.jpeg837DED45-A73E-4081-AD39-DD151185729D.jpegAA04E599-3AFA-43E4-A73B-60836A2A0ACD.jpeg

Week 19, and I still can’t figure out what a lot of the sides are at the moment, Dogs a prime example the last couple of weeks. Maybe now the origin period is nearly over things will settle down a bit, but so many questions to be answered for so many teams

Somehow Burton is coming back on. Gus must have pulled some strings there because he was wobbling round for a couple of mins

Rumour- If Titans lose tomorrow it may be Haslers last game, with Brad Arthur tipped to be there. Not sure how much substance I can give it though with Arthur currently coaching super league

Melbourne look ominous, 32-14 over Newcastle.

A belter at Kogarah, Tedesco is in good form (a sheepish Daley watching?), 31-24, Roosters over Dragons.

And up in Townsville it was 12-8 to the Dogs at halftime and that's how it stayed. Will Payten go before Hasler?!

That doesn't make sense. All the hoopla and he's already surplus goods?
Wanted 4 forwards on the bench was Ciraldo excuse, but sure what will happen next week

Looks like it may be a shout-out between the Weak Gutted Dog and the Weak Minded Dog for the final spot

I see Ben & Shane Walker want the Titans job. It's interesting that Sam Walker (Ben's son) is off contract at the end of 2026. Roosters have Savala & Toby Rodwell coming through, potentially DCE next year as well. A bit happening!

12-10, Panthers. Halftime. C'mon Eels, put Penrith to bed. They're a tired football club.

...32-10, final. Jeez, it's been a good turnaround for Penrith this season. I bet they meet us in the finals and knock us out. You watch. It's why I'm so keen to see the back of them.

This is exactly what the Titans should do.

They're f**ked if they go anyone, so why not take a gamble. And if they can land Sam as part of it, perfect.

Two-all so far at Robina. Is it too early to start looking for other results to advance our cause? I don't think so, as it's quite clear the Broncos are gunning for our top-four spot.

The GC have about two million dollars sitting on the bench yet to come on. Tino and Fifita.

Foran's 35th b'day. Well done to the veteran.

...20-14, twenty-two mins to go. After some gross-looking Brisbane try celebrations (including Walsh back-flipping with a knee injury) Jo-Jo is on fire for the GC. Brisbane look to be panicking.

...but hold on. 26-14, final.

Another fascinating round of footy. Canberra stay top, Melbourne are a whisker away.

Round 19 Ladder:

The Dogs are still up there, which isn't surprising, but their 'internal strife' might affect them badly.

The commentators I heard this weekend were all death-riding our top-four spot in favour of Brisbane. Not so fast, please. We're not 'presumed' to drop out, are we?

Tired old Penrith are still finding enough to win, there's a massive log-jam mid-table. Look at the Dolphins f/a! 150! A few wins and they rocket up the ladder.

The spoon? It's on there too. Dessie will probably get it. Which would be a sad end to his coaching career.
