NRL Rd 10 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

Jerome Luai must be absolutely filthy at his old man who posted on social media yesterday at full time “get out clause activated”.
The media will make a mountain out of a molehill and the Tigers can’t catch a break as a club

Something weird going on for me at the moment, there are plenty of NRL games I look forward to each week, but not feeling the same when Manly is involved, yesterday I barely gave the game a thought and was tuning out through the majority of it. Must be the Matt Lodge effect lol

Also bought my young lad a Warriors jacket yesterday, and allowing him to use this “Up the Wahs” rubbish. We were going through a mall car park last week and he wound down the window and was yelling it out repeatedly

Ha your lad sounds like a smart one lol

But do you reckon the DCE contract thing is dragging down the vibe around the club at the moment? Or were you feeling it before that all went down?

I was already there, when they signed Matt Lodge initially that nearly killed it off for me. I’m not a fan of how the owners operate, and they have shafted club legends repeatedly. The Hasler dismissal to headhunt Seibold I hated.

DCE an interesting one, when it came out I was very pro DCE and anti club, but his form the last 2 months has turned me around on him a lot, and the complete charade being played when everyone knows he has signed with the Roosters is a joke

Yea I feel you on the ownership thing, plenty of that in our past as well. We've had some absolute circus acts in the front office over the years and at its worst, I struggled to stay invested as well.

I know public profile doesn't necessarily correlate to good decision making, but when Robinson was regularly in the media I hated it. Always felt good owners should deliberately stay out of the limelight and let the people they've hired get on with things. Matt Tripp at the Storm is rarely quoted on club matters for instance.

On DCE, he's one of the most measured, even calculating, personalities in the game so I've been surprised with his form dip. I fully expected him to just carry on as usual, no matter the speculation. Maybe Fletch was right last night and he should just announce who he's going to and put it to bed. Even if its not for his benefit, maybe it's what his team needs.

Seems like it is something they do before every kickoff apparently. Yeah you’re right it’s grubby, not too extreme though and bit of gamesmanship. Bit like the old games you’d see where the ball boys would pass the ball to the home side but place it on the ground for the away side

The Latrell one, could you imagine the carry on if Jordan Riki came in and absolutely cleaned him out when he took a knee
It's not extreme like Deflate-gate but I reckon it's rubbish. I don't think it fits under gamesmanship. It looks crap. You're the 4 time premiership winners, why would you even bother? Because you're now down the bottom?

And yeah 100% - if someone cleaned out Trell there'd be uproar. They did the 'right' thing and let him lie, then he does that. Not a dog act and to be fair he probably didn't even think or care that it was not the thing to do.

Trent Robinson having a massive go at the Knights over their handling of the Dom Young situation. Bit rich considering how he has treated plenty of players over the years, Kyle Flanagan probably the worst of the lot, the May punting at the end of last year as well

Cherry-Evans is one of the all-time greats. I would have had him at the Warriors over almost any of his contemporaries. Form dip bespeaks the influence of external factors.

Origin sides named this one weekend, has come around quick

Good luck picking the NSW back 5 out of Edwards, Tedesco, Trbojevic, Mitchell, Papenhuysen, To’o, Lomax, Crichton and Best
Yea man nice headache for Loz and Bellamy to have.

Turbo still looks well short of his best though. I was hoping he'd put on a massive shift in response to Latrell's efforts, but he looked almost tentative at times.

Dunno if that's just a reflection of how the team is going as a whole, or if that knee is still bothering him. What's the Manly fanbase view on him Beav?

He has that look, but has also had the explosive plays as well where he looks sharp as well, is weird. The Manly forum I used to frequent is awful these days so I largely stay away from it so not sure what the views are

Brandon Smith to Souths now officially done

Roosters apparently furious about the last week and especially his quote “DCE is already signed, they are too scared to admit it”
The Roosters v Souths game will be interesting.

Melbourne, Easts, now Souths. This guy doesn't waste his time with battlers.

It's tough eh

Guess partly depends on how loyal they are to last year's winning team - Edwards in particular, who hasn't been his best, Crichton has to be there, but could end on the wing if they want Turbo and Mitchell... Pap is brilliant, but would they pick him at 14 ahead of Watson? Lomax and Best looking like being pretty unlucky... hard to leave out both of Turbo and Mitchell
