We've got 8 games to go, the only difference in our current 2026 squad to now is Brown out and De Belin in. For those 8 games the coaches should pretty much treat them all like trials for 2026. We know what we're getting with De Belin, so Brown gets to fill a slot in the 17 as a result.

If we end up losing every game and running last because of it, well at least that we'll open the clubs eyes and mind and show that we have a huge a f**ken problem going forward.

Don't just focus on our signings, the following will be entering their second year of NRL:

- Iongi (23 next year)
- Papalii (22)
- Kk (24)
- Tuivaiti (21)
- Samrani (24)
- Smith (23)

While Guymer (22), TDS (20), Penisini (24), Russell (24) will have another years experience.

That's 10 players, all who will improve after another years experience and NRL season.

I am guessing 8, probably 9 will be in our 17 (Samrani unlikely but think Guymer may). Maybe it won't be enough, but it's a good indication, that the squad will have a fair bit of improvement in it, just as it currently is due to its age/experience.

Additionally the spine (Iongi, Papali, Moses, smith, TDS, Walker), will get a full off season to work together which they haven't had yet. And there will be more signings.

Exciting times!!

Surely we’ve got a few more signings to come De Belin is only on 300k

Joffa alone was on 500k, Lane is on 600k and he’s expected to retire

If this what it takes, then we are beyond help

Interesting, talk is Smith is going to play a "Brandon Smith" type role, now Walker is starting.......Walker isn't an 80 min player, wonder if Smith is going into that role when TDS cames on / Walker goes off.

Hopgood won't be able to by starting and no one else on the bench can play the role. Paulo will do some.

Are we going to see another change to our attacking structure/adjustment?

So, we told Brown prior to June 30 that you're welcome to go to Newcastle now, but if you stick around there is no guarantee that you'll get a game, as we're working on 2026 from now on.

He then chooses to stay around and for the last 8 rounds might not even play another game?

Seriously...What the f**k are the Knights in for...

It's all just trials for 2026 now...might as well have a look to see what it looks like.

I love the fact Ryles is trying new ideas and positional plays... it's very exciting because the way we played for the previous few years sure as shit wasn't.
