TLT Round 20 vs Raiders

Pretty easy to predict that team list... Williams covering KK's absence and Hopgood into the prop jersey/rotation, and with Smith back in the side Walker starting in the lock role until De Silva comes on from the bench.

Therefore #18 is the obvious spot for Brown until game day, since Ryles doesn't really have a plan for where Brown deserves a spot in the 1-17 over people getting exposure to their 2026 positions. Maybe he comes onto the bench for Samrani as an option to cover centre, but I don't see it.

This list is pretty much the best we have available and willing - i.e. considering this season's form/efforts of the more talented Lane, Matterson and Brown.

So, we told Brown prior to June 30 that you're welcome to go to Newcastle now, but if you stick around there is no guarantee that you'll get a game, as we're working on 2026 from now on.

He then chooses to stay around and for the last 8 rounds might not even play another game?

Seriously...What the f**k are the Knights in for...
Dylan Brown is one of the laziest f**ks of a professional footballer there is.

Earlier in the week it was being sold (by Ryles no less) as how selfless Dylan was for this club... but I reckon his choice to stay instead of leave was based on pure laziness and avoiding any pressure to perform - which he'll have in spades next season at $1.3mil and perhaps no Ponga there either.

There is no confirmation that the Knights had the cash to take over Dylans $800k contract. So let's not read too much into it. IIRC the Knights wanted to release a merkin to the Tigers and that might have lead to something something if Jackson Hastings.

Delighted to see Dyl get the chop. He’s not here next season, has stunk it up this season. Ryles absolutely investing in youth. Smart move.
It's a smart move but it could back-fire on him (Ryles), at least in the media. Not that I think he gives a shit what they say, the fact that he has taken our most experienced half available and been happy to effectively drop him says huge things to the coach he is going to develop into.

That's possible, but it also seems like something that Brown wasn't interested in. Whether the Knights had the cap space doesn't seem relevant, as according to Brent Read's article, Ryles said he Brown didn't want to go.

Yep; it’s the move of a man who doesn’t give one flying fk what the media say but also a man that realises the extent of the rebuild required. It’s not like Brown has given him anything to think about. His performances to date have been mediocre at best so it’s not been a hard decision to make.
