I like the look of Hopgood at prop, though it's evident he is getting his fitness back (which is great, because a fit Hopgood is good for us).

The result was great, so obviously we didn’t need him last night. However Footy Dean was solid, but in shape mostly either passive or a little clunky.

So let’s not pretend that we are a better side with him out of it. He’s just not there cos coach is weening (cold turkey actually) us off him and looking towards next year.

He's always been a good runner of the ball, imo - it was his ball handling, and sloppy defence at times, which let him down.

But I'm glad he's seeing game time as a middle, because he adds a different dimension to our pack.

The effort has been there for over a month. We finally got a fair crack from the referees and the 50/50 calls. Last nights ref had no influence on the game. Last weeks game V Canberra, we were in that game to our eyeballs then Klown gives Canberra a 6 again at a crucial time, Young is tackled on the 4th, 39 m out from his try line, moves off the mark plays the ball beyond the 40 m line and the ref calls a 6 again for a ruck infringement, junior and Walker argued he moved off the mark. Same game, same ref, makes Lomax (at least two occasions) move back to the mark.

I think Canberra reacted better to us. They stayed in our faces, whilst the Broncos fell on their heels.

A lot of that has to do with Moses’s kicking game and our chase.

Brisbane have always been a team if you stay in the grind for 80 mins with them they will crumble and get impatient with trick plays and try to show off which leads to mistakes.

It was a great game plan by Ryles and excuted by the team because he basically just told the guys get to your kick play set for set.

And watch them get frustrated.

It panned out exactly how I think Ryles would have sold it to the group during the week.

Agree completely.

But I do think the refs tried their best to give Brisbane the win yesterday.
