A number of players yet to learn the victory song but "da da dada da" will do for now.
How good is winning when Ennis is commentating so you can hear the steady decline of excitement in his voice!
Dude… it was only semi-serious. No need to make up excuses for him.He strained his hammy in the first half, brainiac.

Is that why a bunch of our players are playing worse this year?Who said coaching doesn't make a difference is an idiot.
Death rider? Here's me on page one of this thread:One of them is in Canberra, but Gronk is still here….
They also won me thirty bucks on the punt.We will deadset smash them.
Is that why a bunch of our players are playing worse this year?
Literally death riding not three minutes before disclaiming being a death rider…do you just post for the literal sake of it?Is that why a bunch of our players are playing worse this year?
I’m not the one blaming the coach for our poor results this year, nor am I blaming him for the poor form of some of our players. I believe in personal responsibility and that's on them.Literally death riding not three minutes before disclaiming being a death rider…do you just post for the literal sake of it?
Will you take personal responsibility to f**k off from here in two weeks' time for the off-season, and give long suffering others a break from having to wade through your constant contrarian nonsense forum posts?I believe in personal responsibility and that's on them.

The last few weeks is a small sample, so they should be judged across the entire season so far. But of the players who were at the club last year, these merkins have all played worse:Who is playing worse this year?
Over the last few weeks I would say everyone that has been consistently picked in first grade has improved even Hopgood has gotten better as the season has gone on..

Brown
Hands
Hopgood
Lane
Matterson
Moses
Ofahengaue
Penisini
Now I'm not the one saying it's the coach's fault. But if you're claiming player form is the coach's responsibility then you have to accept that not every player has improved this year. Quite a few players have improved, and that's on them, not the coach. These are grown men ffs.

He is worse this year:Brown was poor last year
He played the first two games and did f**k all:Hands hasn't played first grade this year and isn't at the club
No he was at his best in 2023 and has declined every year since. This year he has been worse than last year:Hopgood since moved from the lock forward roll to front row is actually performing at his best post injury.
I agree it's nothing to do with the coach, but the fact is he was worse this year:Lane again has been down in form since his injuries and the fact he is now retired.
He has been in decline since 2022 but was still much better last year than this year:Matterson again has been down in for for many of years and isn't at the club.
He is. His running game has declined, and he isn't engaging the line anywhere near as much. Obviously his goalkicking has fallen off a cliff:Moses not sure a SOO rep would be down in form.
Does that mean he wasn't playing worse?Joe not at the club
He played his best footy in 2023 and it's been all downhill since. Not the coach's fault, obviously, because his decline started before Ryles got here, but THAT'S MY f**kING POINT. It's not up to the coach to own the player's performance. Will has been poor for over a year and since coming back from his suspension has been good..
Because he couldn't improve them? Or because he knows their performances are their responsibility? So players form is on the coach and the player hence why you see a few players not at the club anymore...
Yeah I hope so. The difference in both cases will be due to pathways development. We were doing well in that area pre-Covid, which is why we were able to build a regular finals squad. That 2-3 year lack of funding really hurt our squad succession, and we are seeing the results of that now. But by 2023 we were clearly back on track and the oldest of those guys are 22 next year.Ryles has been great change BA had his style and it got them to a GF with a small window. The new plan seems to be long term success.
He is worse this year:

At the end of the day the players need to be big boys and do the work though if the work by the coach isn't of a top standard that won't make very good players.
