I believe so. But I’m not certain.
I hope so though.
It needs to happen, I just can't see how a 16k ceiling at kogarah is viable. The more games at allianz the better, get fans in the habit of going now and if/when form improves the club can capitalise on it and actually pull big crowds.

Keep 1 game at kogarah like dogs use belmore, try and sell it out to members.

I can guarentee within 5 years they will be in a lot better positon than the Sharks.

For a start "Perth is set to have an NRL Centre of Excellence as part of the Perth Bears expansion, with the WA government committing to fund a facility at the Malaga Sports Precinct development, near the Perth CBD. The project is a community asset within the Malaga development, with construction expected to follow the team's entry into the NRL. "

That's one up on the Sharks imaginary one.
Let's see in 5 years they have an asset base, owned by the club.IE have 2 Leagues club operating ,and property in the Main Street of a major Surfside location bringing in non football income. No one knows what the situation will be in 5 years. We had COVID 5 years ago and that stuffed up many things. We may have a change of Govt , especially with this mob currently in power.
You are not aware organisations have expressed interest in accessing and using the stadium for upcoming events.
An AUSX Supercross event has been locked in and scheduled for October 25 with early interest and ticket sales exceptional, with December 6 penciled for Carols by Candlelight all income for the club.
So the ground has become multiuse venue .Which helps with pushing Govt grants and financial support.

I doubt they will put a stand over the hill (in the short term anyway) as the view to the surf is an iconic part of WIN.
The Southern stand should be replaced by a modern two tier stand aligning with the Western. I would also fill the S/W corner gap at the upper level (leaving a walkway underneath) linking the West and Southern stands. That could take it to a 25, maybe 26, thousand capacity comfortable Stadium. Perhaps a similar upper level corner could be put in on the N/W corner, but that would be more difficult as the stairs to the Western Stand are there and I don’t think the Northern stand aligns with the Western.

A Northern stand renewal and Eastern stand could be left for a while. Probably best to plan them though so that they could match / align with the Western and new Southern (whenever built).

Don’t see any reason they can’t build a low single tier stand with a concourse and some standing room on the Eastern side to keep the view. 2 tiers stands all other sides, fill in the corners, should get it to 25k+.

They don’t need to keep the view that’s a furphy

They could design a two tiered stand there if they want too that fits in with beach behind

I think you’ve confused what I meant with the old myth they can’t build anything on that side because of the sand. Keeping that side single tier with the view and double tier-ing the rest would be something to set it apart.

If the need ever arises for another few thousand capacity after that then yeh can make it 2 tiers all the way around and lose the view.

If they are going to remove the hill then it has to be two tiers

Could put a big glass section in the middle for views or even keep it open for breeze access

Overshadowing on the beach could be an issue as it would eliminate afternoon sun

I don't understand the love for the Dragons to play at Allianz when they have enough tenants and yet leave a stadium outside Sydney with stunning views of the ocean empty/half empty ?

There’s only the odd person with a dog on the beach there.

The Dragons should be a big Sydney club. It should always have been the Sharks that merged with Illawarra and played out of Wollongong after super league.

Shark Park is fine for NRLW and NSW Cup or lower but it’s an absolute embarrassment for NRL level.

Shark Park could be used as the QRL use Kayo Stadium. Play finals or under 18/23 rep games.

The stadium may be ok for a low drawing team once or twice a year like Belmore is used

If they went to Allianz, there's a possibility for the Dragons to average 25k, while in Wollongong, 15k. Overall have a solid 20k average.

Further, it actually allows the club to have a stadium strategy and pick a more appropriate venue based upon the opponent and timeslot.

An issue with both Kogarah & Wollongong is they both have similar capacities & both struggle to attract crowds in certain timeslots, especially Thursday & Friday nights.

Allianz is better suited to those weeknight timeslots, as well can hold those big event games.

Saints fans want more games at Allianz, NRL would want more Saints games at Allianz, Allianz wants more games at Allianz. Not sure what it would take to make this happen but surely it will happen soon.

Next year we're playing Bulldogs there so it's a start, and anzac day against Roosters will be our game at Allianz too. So just 2 more home games there is all we need - Rabbitohs and Sharks.

Then play 2 games at Kogarah (Titans and Cowboys), and the rest at WIN.

That would be a great mix for Dragons and enable us to get to a 20k average, and push for upgrading WIN with the government - drop 200m on it.

Hmmm. Ticketek to lose its contract for ticketing at Venues NSW managed stadiums to Ticketmaster?

Would be a massive blow to the ticketing arm of TEG if true. AFL has been lobbying hard for Ticketmaster to take over the MCG because they use TM for their membership platform whilst Stadiums Queensland has been moving venues to TM for a while now (CBus, QCB, Gabba have all switched).
