I'm a bit puzzled how a journalist has any idea in what cap space we have , that's right they guess and my guess is we have a fair bit left, opinions are like assholes everyone has one and I'm sure we can afford Pezet and a few others
Buzz and Crawley are clowns with no idea.

They actually dont deal with any clubs there just opinion based journos who appear on a TV show.

Buzz only chases gossip for his Sunday column.

They both throw shit at the dartboard and think everyone falls for it.

If someone like Carayannis whose in regular dialogue with the clubs and a lot more balanced journalist who doesn't carry agendas i will be more inclined to believe.

Think the finals this year were rather weak as a whole outside of Melbourne really. We likely would've just been another also ran even if Moses was fit all year, but there was definitely the opportunity for a smokie to go through.
I wouldn’t put that disclaimer about Melbourne

they been weak all year , not Melbourne of previous years

I think the donkeys will get them on Sunday

They all have plenty of connections with clubs. Buzz would have more than most.

I think we all agree after everything that’s being reported in the last week that Lomax at very best will only survive another season at our club at worst he’ll probably be gone by November, but this really does blow my mind, not the fact that he’s about to away from his contract, I mean it’s not as if he’s the first or won’t be the last guy to do it but he’s about to walk away for something that doesn’t exist and may not exist until the regular season next year….i mean wtf is he going to do for 12 months without playing any competitive sport?

Practice his goal kicking.

Seriously though, if we were to get Pezet out of this merry go round, that's a high potential young spine of Iongi, Pezet, Smith and TDS with Moses running the circus. That's exiting.

Moses misses out on the Kangaroo Tour (though i think he'll probably play the PM XIII)

Shame because on a rep level he deserves it over Cleary but was never going to happen.

Good for the Eels though that he'll get a full pre-season with Joash/Ryley/Talyn to work on combinations..

Kangaroos players by club

  • Panthers: Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Lindsay Smith, Dylan Edwards (4)
  • Broncos: Patrick Carrigan, Reece Walsh, Kotoni Staggs (3)
  • Storm: Harry Grant, Cameron Munster, Xavier Coates (3)
  • Roosters: Angus Crichton, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Lindsay Collins (3)
  • Raiders: Hudson Young, Ethan Strange (2)
  • Cowboys: Tom Dearden, Reuben Cotter (2)
  • Sharks: Blake Brailey (1)
  • Titans: Tino Fa’asuamaleaui (1)
  • Bulldogs: Jacob Preston (1)
  • Eels: Zac Lomax (1)
  • Knights: Bradman Best (1)
  • Rabbitohs: Keaon Koloamatangi (1)
That's 1 halfback and 2 5/8, Walters better hope Cleary stays healthy.
Edit: Didn't see Deardon

I don’t think Pezet is the ideal style to compliment Moses’ game, but he’s better than any option we currently have at the club next year. If we go into next year with Papa at 6 we’ll scrape into the 8 at best.
We’ve got one of the best 7s in the game, we need to be putting a squad together that is capable of winning the comp, no more rebuild years.
If Pezet is at 6, it will allow Moses to run more and doesn’t have to worry about being tackled on the last. Iongi is a strong runner, just need strong ball runners in the 2nd row and centres to cover Pezet’s weaker running game
Moses could play 6 like he did at Tigers. I think it worked out well for them?

That's the thing that I can't get my head around... The competition isn't even greenlit yet and even if it does go ahead it's not supposed to commence until October.

I don't begrudge Lomax chasing mega bucks but it just seems crazy to me. I assume they are waiting for confirmation firstly that it is 100% happening then will sit down with Parra and work something out. It will likely go above Parra though because you aren't just moving club you are moving do a different code which is a competitor to us... PVL has been pretty stern with his warnings around it.

What seems to me what will likely happen will be Lomax to commit for 2026 with us and then join R360 in 2027 which apparently will be the first proper season of the competition (2026 is a shortened format).

One thing that always stuck with me with Lomax... I remember after he first debuted at the Dragons one of the Footy Shows did a puff piece on him and Jess Sergis who he was dating at the time. He was only 18-19 then and I clearly remember him mentioning that he planned in the next 5 years to play Origin and for Australia so he would have done everything in the game by the age of 24 then he was keen to try and play Cricket professionally as apparently he was a gun junior at that also and had to pick between the two sports.

I remember thinking how cocky is this little shit, does he think its going to be that easy? I've never seen the footage resurface and never heard him mention it again but he was dead serious in the interview

He's now in his mid 20s and played Origin and for Australia, not going to be Cricket but not far off what he predicted.

Is it just me or does moses play more like a 6 with a half-backs kicking game?

I would have agreed with this probably up to 3-4 years ago. Not these days though he's an out and out 7... Moses does all the organising and setting up the sets of 6, he's the General.

He could probably still play 6 as he did in Origin with Cleary but I think that would take away from some of his natural strengths as well.

Correction: we have THE best 7 in the game.

Clearly has more Premierships to his name, but he has not dominated at Origin like Moses.

Lol his not even the best cricketer in the top 30 at Parra atm.

Ryley Smith has him covered
