And when’s the last time you were at Panthers? The 1980’s?

I must admit, I haven’t lived in the Penrith area for a good 15 years and probably haven’t had a feed at Panthers for close to 9 years, but surely you jest?

After all, unless you’re looking for food quality there from a Chef the calibre of Heston Blumenthal or Rick Stein, your tastebuds must be in your f*cken arsehole.
About 4 months ago actually. Ate at Kelly's I think it's called. Not impressed.
Would have been better off getting a counter meal at the Top Pub (do they still call it that?) or the Peachtree.

You went to Kelly’s to eat? Huge mistake! They’ve actually been at Panthers since the 1980’s so my initial question wasn’t without its validity, but then now there are so many dining and grog options at Panthers so am not sure why anyone would pick Kelly’s over any other dining option unless they didn’t know much about the club or were in a hurry to have a quick feed before kick off at Bluebet?

Then now, there are shitloads of options outside Panthers too:

The last time Storm got pumped 40 nil was on October 5th, this could lead to be an omen for them again. Imagine getting humiliated twice on October the 5th 😳

Anybody who turns up to the game in either:

a) A half/ half Broncos and Storm jersey or

b) A Maroons jersey with Storm apparel;

Should be ejected from Accor immediately and given a lifetime ban.

To be fair, the bistro is pretty dire. Most of the other offerings are top notch though.

I work in security. I had been getting shifts on sundays from 12 -5pm for months now. I keep my mouth shut, always helping the manager when other guards call in sick or something. Always taking the opportunity to be a good employee.

It works out beautifully for me. I get a shift on a sunday rate, I get to go home and watch the GF (Objectively an intriguing match up), and then watch Oscar Piastri win the Singapore GP.

Well, when the shifts are always set the week before, I find out this morning that my sunday shift has been cancelled, to then be offered a shift 5-11pm, which I took to maintain my reputation.

I am absolutley ******* pissed!

Its over if Melbourne have to chase points - if Brisbane get a good period of momentum going - that will win them the game - if they can break open the game like 2023 - they go on with it.

interesting matchup - how much Petrol does Brisbane have in the tank physically & mentally - 2 very emotional wins to get into the GF.

both teams coming off GF losses recently = so their preparation will be good going into Sunday

as much as i dont want to see it - Brisbane by 6

It’s going to be a punish. If Brisbane win we have to watch that smug little f**kwit Reynolds go on like he actually did something this year. If they lose, then we have to suffer Melbourne winning.

I hope Atkins blows the pea out of the whistle so it can take its rightful place as the worst grand final ever.

They should have to compete in a 1v1 no holds barred cage match with the losing coach

Methinks a bit too much is being made about the theoretical advantage of the 9 day turnaround as opposed to the 7 day turnaround. These teams have been conditioned all year to a 5 to 7 day turnaround. A few days to get over the bumps and bruises then dial in to the upcoming contest. 7 days is plenty . The only advantage of a 9 day turnaround would be for an extra 48 hours of physiotherapy for say an ankle sprain to optimise recovery.

The negative of an extra 2 days is that it’s more time to keep playing the game in your head over and over so that you’re exhausted by game day. That’s an all too common pitfall going into any big game especially for the inexperienced player.

The best way to approach a big game is by getting an early touch to calm the nerves. If you sit back and watch before you know it it’s already half time.

Best of luck Storm supporters - I don't think anyone is surprised to see your team has made it this far and it's going to take something special to deny them.

I expect Coates and Grant will give the Broncos the biggest headache on the night. Brisbane were able to defend Coates in the last encounter, but I doubt their tactics will fly come the GF. Meanwhile Grant was causing Brisbane all sorts in Melbourne and the Storm really felt his absence in Brisbane - Garlick couldn't fill his boots.

For the Broncos, all the focus is on the key men - Walsh, Haas, Staggs, Reynolds, Hunt, Carrigan etc. I think it'll be the lesser lights like Paix and Piakura who will be crucial. I think Melbourne will go into the game to target Paix defensively and won't be too concerned with him in attack - if he can find his early season form it will be a good omen.

Melbourne are deserved favourites, but Brisbane have plenty of momentum and unlike their previous GF appearance had to work hard to get there.

For us fans, your FACTHUNTs, MRNs, blazzas, some11s, FrankGrimes, IBMs etc. it's been such a rollercoaster since 2015. From watching Ben Hunt carry the club into a Grand Final, only to see him have the worst game of his career on the biggest stage. To Bennett getting the axe and watching the club plummet towards a wooden spoon in absolute disgrace. To Kevie rebuilding the club, turning back the clock and turning them into an exciting attacking team. Only to watch all come undone in the most humiliating set of circumstances and all the ramifications that would follow. To Hunt returning and Brisbane finding form at just the right time and managing to produce some of the most remarkable wins in club history.

If they somehow managed to win it here through all the trials and tribulations, it would be a win for the ages.

I've decided to tip Broncos 1 - 12 which probably means Storm 13+. Got that destiny feeling about the Broncos this year. Said whoever won the Broncos Raiders game week 1 would win the comp so I'm sticking solid. I think Broncos have more to play for, as silly as it sounds, a GF appearance is nothing new for Melbourne and they're just as likely to make it again next year or at worst another prelim. For me that desire aspect can never be understated - see Sharks 2016.

Broncos 1 - 12, Walsh & Coates ATS, and probably something like 28 - 22.
