Absolutely nothing announced, not even for NZ.
I just noticed now because I wanted to plan that morning… there’s already a shitload of sports that Sunday morning… the UFC, the Joseph Parker fight, F1 qualie, and I wanted to make sure I caught the ashes thirst test… but low and behold… nothing…

how the f**k NZ doesn’t have coverage of it is ludicrous…

As with any Wane side it appears his plan centres around brute force, aggression and attrition rather than much else. It’s just not going to work in this day and age, I feel.

I’m not expecting Australia to be fluent from the off and will need to adjust to the refereeing and the rules that are being played but there’s too much skill and quality in that side for it not to be an Australia win.

How badly would it effect ticket sales to play it at midday UK time? I'm fairly certain you'd get 5-10x more TV audience (and tv rights value adjusted accordingly) playing at 10pm Sydney time than 2am... is it a worthwhile tradeoff? I've always found it odd that Rugby league tests never make an effort to be more accessible across timezones when its a sport completely reliant on 2 markets.
That's right and the next game in Everton at 2.30 pm (again) which means 1.30 am in the early morning in Sydney.
This game could easily be played at 12.00 noon as the traveling public is close by, as opposed the Wemblery game.
Sometimes I think the Uk is run by amateurs, and the Australian negotiations ( Beattie) should get a kick in Behind also. Game should be watchable in Sydney with kick off at 10pm Saturday night!

When are the poms going to grow a set and announce their team already?

The Aussie team has been out for over 24 hours now and those cowards are still hiding their team 3 days out from kick off.

We won’t. Well, not a 17. I assume, like we do in Super League, we’ll announce our 21 man squad for the game 48 hours before the game, so I’m expecting it to be released around 12pm-1pm tomorrow. We’ll then probably only announce the 18 man squad an hour or two before kick-off.

It`s their only hope I think, they won`t beat us through skill, the best they can hope for is to keep it close and try and jag a win. Like a lot of heavily favoured sides, keep them within range or ideally behind on the scoreboard towards the end and they can lose the plot.

Perso je serai à Albi
Personally, I will be in Albi at the same time, but it is still unthinkable that neither any French channel, nor the WatchNRL and Superleague+ apps will show the game.
I'll wait to see it on some YouTube channel.
You should be able to watch online on BBC iplayer, just set VPN to UK, have done it before.

I keep reading from poms and other Rugby fans, you know the ones I mean. They think the Aussies take these games as givens. They don't, you think they have no pride in the Kangaroos. You are wrong. No one in the Green and Gold wants to lose to the poms ever, but being the 1st in 50 odd years in a Ashes series to lose , no way. It makes you play harder. We Aussies have pride.

It’s not Australia, England doesn’t run the game for betting agencies like in Oz.

Lots of tickets remaining in the upper tier sections currently on sale probably means sales have slowed right down and that no new sections will be opened up sadly.

hopefully there’s enough tickets on general sale for the crowd to potentially reach 60k if all are sold.
