Rouse Hill.

Perfect! It's such a great, reliable trip, and fast.
Just don't mention it to Bart. He doesn't like anything the Libs built.

I caught the metro to Central yesterday, from Castle Hill, for a personal guided tour of the new Atlassion tower build currently under construction at Central.
There are so many "world's firsts" and world's biggest" records happening with this build.
For example, (@Twizzle) the bottom 6 floors actually hang off floor 7, which is the major supporting level.

These columns support and distribute the loads.

I've done the Metro a few times now. Last time was in late August showing an American friend around. We got off at Barangaroo and walked around under the bridge to the Opera house, caught a return ferry to Manly then another ferry back to Barangaroo before catching the train back to Rouse Hill. $9 bucks for the day pp - can't argue with that.

Can't argue with that indeed.
I'm now officially a senior, where I can travel anywhere on the Sydney transport system (including metro, trains, buses, ferries and Light Rail for a cap of $2.50 per day.
A worthy deal considering I've paid my taxes for 45 years.

Excellent! There’s some guy on YouTube called Public Transport and Card Hacks. He tries out all the public transport rides along the east coast of OZ (at least). Some bargain trips to be had.

Aren't they planning to build 35 story/level plus apartment blocks at the old fish markets site at Pyrmont?

The new Sydney fish market originally budgeted for 250 million ended up 6 years behind schedule and costing 600 million.

mmm as Rhonda often said on Utopia when costs of projects blew out significantly "It's getting the job done"

And speaking of - fancy going to all that effort, only to be turned away! Enough to put people off going back in a hurry....

Among those told to wait was Alex Jensen, who took a train and tram to experience the opening.

“All we were told is that it’s full and we either have to queue up or come back later,” he said. “It’s disappointing because we made the trip especially to be here."

I think it's future income projections are inflated, and won't be reflected in the reality.
Personally, big projects like the new fish markets will cop a lot of flack the first day they open the doors. The delay on the wharf is justifiable, but with the opening today with every merkin wanting to be the first including vloggers, floggers and Youtubers it was always going to happen. I think the new fish markets will be another drawcard for the great city of Sydney if handled correctly.

Alex Jensen didn't think there would be a humungous crowd on opening day?

Blackwattle Bay as a precinct will become a major attraction in the not too distant future. Once the old fish markets are knocked down and replaced with high rise, etc it's going to be another part of why Sydney is the best city in OZ.
