Honestly, I defended Kyle at 7 last year, mainly because he was a good defender, and I still believe he is probably a better option than ilias just on pure effort. Glover should have at least got a go but his kicking game was pretty bad (I know kyles is terrible). This year, Kyle isn’t doing any kicking. Although we have lesser known backups, they’re all better options at this point in time. Reed is a year older, LKT better 2nd fiddle than Kyle, honestly O’Neill is a good player that is suited to 6 or 7. Now that we have the kicker in Atkinson, we have 3 better options. I was going against Nepo claims last year, but if he keeps stinking it up this year and doesn’t get dropped, I’ll be joining the nepo squad

He won't be dropped, if anything when Reed is ready and there is too much noise for Reed to start in 2027 he will just find another position for Kyle and someone else will be dropped.
Possibly a factor in holding off re signing Cook.

Really there is only LKT as another option, could argue that Kyle is taking up the position and if he wasn't signed we might have signed someone better.

He can be on the 6 man extended bench if it keeps coach happy without dropping him.

He probably kicked them everything he had too, such skill. Only difference between his long and short kicking game is where he kicks it from

That's why he has no instinct to play what's in front of him, doesn't try anything different, doesn't have a long kicking game at all, how many times does he die with the ball, take the tackle on last.
He's a conservative player.
Even if he was at dummy half you would get more of the same.
