Because I listed better players with higher error counts. Not all errors are equal and its generally part of high risk/high reward players

Let's not pretend you weren't trying to have a stab at posters, me included, that called out you and others for writing the kid off waaaay early and making this error stat some sort of justification for doing it. Hunt deserves praise for the way he's handled the responsibility and pressure
Honestly, I still don't see it - but I said weeks ago when he sat in for Kalyn when he went down that he proved me wrong. He's still way off first grade, but he's got one quality that I do admire very much and that's that he always goes to the game - even after one (or many) errors, he doesn't stop playing footy.

I'm still going to call a spade a spade and 11 errors in 2 games is not good. It's really f**kin bad. And he's an absolute doorstop in attack for 70+ minutes of the game.

Now tell me more about how much better Trey Mooney is than JSaf.

Come on guys. Let’s enjoy these wins.
Our players are doing enough at the moment but we need massive improvement to have any chance to beat the likes of Penrith.

Of course we do and I don’t see us beating the likes of Penrith but Jeez we had Ponga, Brown and Best out today. Getting players back will help us improve alone. Take the the calibre of players we’ve lost out of any side and they won’t be perfect either.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of Hunt (he makes a lot of errors but he doesn’t let it hurt his confidence which I like) but replacing him with Ponga alone probably would have gotten us close to 50 today.

I'm having a ball, lol.

We need our big guns back to have any impact against the best playing at their best. Honestly I don't think anyone beats Penrith in their current mood. I dunno if they can sustain what they're doing now for the whole year though. Would be remarkable if they do.

It's a long season and we're only 5 weeks in. Anything can happen from here, but how good is it to have a chance to go on with it? We've already jagged the wins I hoped we would with Brown and Kalyn out - everything else from here is gravy.

God what is going on this year. This feeling is so foreign. I gave us half a chance this week but I thought the Raiders would overpower us and we'd play them back into form, as we typically would have.

This is great!

Super enjoyable. Not sure what our ceiling is this year, but I'll go along on this fun ride.

We’re doing the absolute best we can with what we’ve got and that comes down to good coaching.

He's had *11* errors in the past 2 games. I know his fans want to ignore it - but he f**ks up a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Needs time in the lower grades to develop. He can't make 5-6 errors a game and be a first grader in any position.
He’s young and having a dig. He’s our stop gap when our fullback and one of our halves is out. Not getting ahead of anything.

In saying that, I don’t think he is way off first grade. He makes errors because he puts himself in the position where he is most likely to make them. I’d rather he attack the ball like he does than let the ball bounce like we were doing last year.

For sure, no doubt about that. I think people that have him penciled in as some sort of automatic replacement for Gags next year are miles ahead of themselves, but he does have potential. He still has a lot to work on though, and probably some filling out to do yet.

Haha bringing up another disagreement, classic failure move bud

I'm happy to back my POV and listen to decent arguments, always have. Maybe look past your own BS for a change

Hang on - you are giving it to Hunt for making errors and saying he wouldn’t take Gags spot who generally makes as many errors a game?

* obviously besides today. He had a great game.

It's not even a disagreement, it's just something you're flat out wrong about. Embarrassingly so actually, lol.

I'm saying that he's not up to being a first grade center yet, regardless of whether it was Gags he was replacing, or Bradman, or a center at another team. Gags just happens to be the one likely to be moving on.

Gags also has massive performances in him still, and the history and credibility of being a winning Origin and International rep behind him too. So a bit different. If we're going to actually compare Dane Gagai to Fletcher Hunt as players and you're gonna have a straight face about that then it shows how completely gone you are on the topic. Like what are we even talking about here.

Who is going to replace Gags then? Also, Hunt won’t have to jump for the high ball as much at centre as he did today.

I don't know, it's a bit of an unsolved mystery at the moment. Opportunity for a few to put their hands up I'd imagine.
