How the hell did your boys not win that tonight.

It felt like it should have been 20 point win with the domination the Tigers had for most of the night.
Yeah tough loss. Makasini errors very costly I think. Kid will learn from that. Tough loss when as you said we dominated for long periods. TBH, I wrapt that we can play like that and dominate the territory game. we have done it all year. Disappointed with the loss but if we can keep it up, the wins will come.

Bit of info around last night, we have enough Cap and roster space to sign say 4x $800k players both for 2027 and the following year. As usual, we have left any action far too late, and are chasing shadows. From comments at the close of the function, they are well aware that things need to change and roster improved

May you live in interesting times
Jesus thats a lot of money. Not much left for 27 as i feel we left it too late ffs. Jenkins + tago/Taulagi? Mariota? Leilua (hope not)? Connor watson? Probably have to build for 28 instead which sounds fkn sad

If you're an Auckland-based backup player, how much more than minimum salary would you need to move to Australia? The conversion rate is an extra 20% right now, plus they pay less tax and things are cheaper over there because everyone (except pro athletes) is broke.

the tax thing depends on how much you are earning, they have a lower top bracket than us but they dont have a tax free threshold.

there is a record amount of kiwis moving to AUS atm, the economics must be good

Too right. It’s impossible to sign any good players for 2027 and 2028 - that’s why no one has done so in the past 12 months.

As usual, you are right - the club has done as much as anyone could expect or hope for in forward planning its roster for 2027 and 2028

the club must be so grateful that you can educate the fans that they deserve nothing but shit. As you say, it’s not trolling parra fans, it’s just educating “dumb bogan fans”. You do God’s work.
Waiting till the last minute and not signing the best players off contract are what the smart clubs do.

Well they were right. Our roster is fine. The problem is the injury crisis.

Statements like the one you replied to is why he can’t be taken seriously.

Ww only have 28 players in our top 30, one of those is Matterson so that’s really a top 27. When you add in Jake Scaffolder Tago it’s a top 26. Add in 6 or 7 others who wouldn’t make most other clubs top 30 and the squad is utter garage with absolutely no depth whatsoever.

We lost two world class players in Lomax and Brown and replaced them with Pissant and Brian f**king Kelly.

lol yeah the squad is fine.

Army kept waiting for Guymer

A local army regiment turned up on Friday for a photo shoot with Parramatta Eels ahead of Anzac Round and to celebrate their special jersey. Some of them took a day off work for the shoot and brought along weapons and vehicles.

We were told they were kept waiting for more than an hour and that only one Eels player, Charlie Guymer, turned up. Parramatta say they originally informed the army they would have a player there between 2pm and 4pm. He turned up just after 3pm after the Eels had told the army on the day they would arrive at 3pm.
The army were also given 150 tickets to Parramatta’s clash with the Warriors.

Chooks will never return to the coop

The Roosters have privately given up on bringing back two of the biggest fish that have escaped their usually strong net.
When Joey Manu and Joseph Suaalii left the club, there were numerous reports they would one day return. The problem is, the Roosters have been outspent and can’t hope to get close to the riches of rugby.
Suaalii is on $1.6 million a year, and the outside deals he has with high-end brands such as Range Rover and Louis Vuitton leave the kid who grew up in Sydney’s west on easy street in Double Bay.
Rugby Australia is also said to be helping fly Suaalii’s parents to games.
It is an unbeatable deal, and the only thing that league can offer him is a well-paid challenge.
The Roosters have given up hope of luring Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii back to league.

The money Manu is making in rugby dwarfs Suaalii’s deal. He is said to be on about €1.3 million ($2.15 million) a season with Racing 92 in France. It is huge money, and it is little wonder the Roosters have moved in a different direction.
Only family would bring Manu back.
Even getting Mark Nawaqanitawase back to Bondi Junction would be a huge challenge. He leaves at the end of the NRL season to take up a two-year deal worth about $3 million with Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan.
There is also increasing talk that Roosters record breaker Daniel Tupou has decided to make this his last year in the NRL. The Roosters winger is the club’s top try-scorer with 187 and he can become their most capped player if he stays injury free. Tupou has played 294 games and is fifth on the all-time list for the Roosters, where Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is on top with 310. If Tupou can avoid injury and suspension this season, he’d get there.
Tupou is rumoured to be looking at a season in Japanese rugby.

IT’S f**kEN BULLSHIT!

Well that’s fair. And one thing the army makes you very good at is waiting.
