Whomever gets in, it sure is interesting at the moment as to who will make it and what the RFL are going to do with the NL's and what their expansion plan is going to be over the next 10 years, I just hope they don't piss too many RL fans off who's team misses out on a SL franchise, I know this will be good for European RL, but there's a lot of blood to be spilt yet.

thats why i reckon only 1 SL club at most will miss out now, if any.

if none miss out which could be likely, i doubt both toulose and crusaders get in, as salford will be stronger than both i feel.

but reports are that widnes will score well too so they could trump toulose and take a SL clubs spot.

current SL + 2 others would be the easiest.

but on points, cas and wakey will probably be behind widnes and also toulose so there is a fair chance one of them will miss out

I would agree with that but feel that it would be harsh on Cas and Wakey if one were to miss out, Cas earned their place in SL the hard way and have always commanded decent crowds, Wakey have been in the top flight for 10 years or so, but I can see a good arguament for leaving them (wakey) out too.

In fact i feel IF any club is to be left out of the current 12 It would have to be Wakey.

one poster has said hes heard rumours that toulose are no chance.

cliff spracklen thinks if the RFL do their job properly they must get in, on meeting the criteria quite well.

im worried that rumours that toulose wont be in have already been made.

heard anything along these lines?

I have heard rumours both ways Dally, Toulouse are in, Toulouse are out.

Its something I cant make up my mind definitavley on, Cas and Wakey are traditional clubs with decent attendances and have earned a place in the comp as it stands now, pre franchise.

Widnes appear to have the backing, stadium and ready made junior development, Salford have the stadium on the way and are touting themselves from the "Manchester" angle of things.
Toulouse and Celtic appear to have the backing, the sponsors and some interseting things are going on in Wales and south of France respectively, so it might be wise to try capitalise on some of that potential.

In some ways I'm enjoying what has been an interseting debate from both sides but in many ways Im looking forward to june/july so we can dispense with all the bullsh*t and rumour!

Well until we start the debate about who goes in in 2012!!

I reckon Salford, Widnes and Crusaders will get in and Castleford out (Wakefield have been in Super League too long to be dropped in my opinion, though without a new ground they won't get a 2012 spot). Toulouse for 2012 for me, either with Cas making it 16 or with one team being dropped. I don't want two untried teams entering at once as there's the potential for disaster, but one every three years is more sustainable expansion and leaves the other expansion teams time to consolidate. Though the NHL expanded by throwing loads of teams at the southern USA and now it's seen as national, but they have more money than Super League

yeah that pretty much sums it up

widnes are still in with a fair chance, salford too, plus the 2 expansion clubs.

if money werent a problem id probably go with 16 clubs.

but if salford and crusaders miss out now, i think the rfl will have made a mistake. especially if its to widnes given their recent financial problems

i think thats closest to how it will go, but hope its toulose not widnes.

thought the point about 2 expansion teams at once is a fair one
