What would people want to see next game?

Schwarzer

North Neill Beauchamp Carney

Valeri

Kewell Bresciano Culina

McDonald Kennedy

I've kept North in there because he was our best defender last night, but you could shift out Beauchamp for Coyne or Griffiths or whoever. Valeri being there gives us an extra man in defence, should we need him. Grella is suspended, I think.

Three midfielders. Kewell and Culina give us plenty of skill, and Bresciano can create and give us an option on free kicks and corners that isn't North. A two man attack based around the height of Kennedy and the ability of McDonald to lurk around behind him and poach shots on goal.

Substitute Holman on for Culina/Bresciano at some point. I don't rate him as a striker, but he's full of running and definitely lifted things yesterday. Replace McDonald with Djite or Troisi or somesuch. Somebody with lots of energy who can feed of Kennedy.

The last substition is up in the air. Carney or Carle or Emerton on for Bresciano or Kewell - whoever looks the worse for wear.

4-4-2 is the way to go IMO

Not much wrong with what you have, though I dont think Beauchamp should be dropped. Neither centre back put a foot wrong against iraq.

The only problem is starting Kennedy. That was his first game since late match/early april.

Now way he'll go 90 minutes if its plus 40 again. Maybe start Djite.

Bresh should have played against Iraq, we had an extra man at the back, Coyne, so why we needed to play the extra man in defence in mid field who the f**k knows

I'd rather Thompson. Djite is a good striker and at his best when he's the one pouncing on scraps or somesuch. If he and McDonald are out there, I'm not sure he can create enough openings for McDonald. We could use Archie's pace, too.

What a joke Neill is. How many games does he miss FFS?

Get you arse in there you merkin.

Pim should grow a f**king backbone and have called him into the squad FFS.

One thing for sure, he shouldnt get the captaincy back.

People bag Viduka out for his availabilty (and given he got injured late in the season we wouldnt want to call an unfit Viduka up), but geeze, Neil is the captain, picks and chooses his games and nobody says a f**king word.

In all fairness, Neil has next to no match fitness. Especially in those infamous Middle Eastern conditions.

Not a bad move by Pim sending him straight to Sydney to prepare for the China game imo. He would last deadset 20 mins against Qatar.

Neil atleast finished the season with the Hammers, Josh Kennedy hadnt played since late march and was called up.

Pim left Lucas out of the squad because he doesn't want him becoming tired in the Middle Eastern heat.

Pft, if its good enough to drag an unfit kennedy back for one match, its good enough to pull Neil into the squad.

So we may go into a must win match against China and have Neil thrown in the heart of defence not having played for how many months by then?

One day you'll realise he is a hack.

If we had Guus, there is no way Neil would have missed these matches.
