whether they buy quality defenders or not is irrelevent since they bought defenders

and yes shevchenko and beckham on loan makes a difference when you say they bought them which they didn't

they didn't need ronaldinho eh? ... then why is he the leading goal scorer and milan are doing 10 times better this year than last ;-)

Ancelotti :D

Galliani confident of Silva swoop

Friday 12 December, 2008

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has given an update on the Diavolo's transfer negotiations for Thiago Silva.

There were reports this morning that Milan had beaten Inter and Villarreal to secure the services of Brazilian international stopper Silva.

“Negotiations are at an advanced stage,” Galliani confirmed on Sky Sport Italia.

“The lad will arrive in Milan on Sunday and will undergo a medical the following day.

“If everything goes according to plan, the deal will be finalised shortly. I only usually talk about a deal when it is done, but I can reveal that we are almost there.

“Given that we can't register him and then loan him out, we are keen to go down the same road we did with Alexandre Pato.

'He will be at Milanello from mid-January and he will train with the rest of the squad before becoming a fully-fledged Rossoneri next July.”
