10 days. That is a compromise, and I'll put a Kallis avatar in PB..go SOUTH AFRICA!:D

Deal.

McDonald scores more runs than Johnson then you can't talk about cricket for ten whole days.

If he doesn't you can create your own thread.

A little late, but for what it's worth, I'd play 5 bowlers. We don't need an all rounder, I'm sick of the fixation with "all rounders" who are only up to one discipline (Symonds batting-and not even that recently and Watson-Bowling) we need a goddamn batsman at 6. Add to that it's a dead rubber and I'd be blooding the two quicks, personally. We need to build an attack for the future with Lee on the decline, no spinner, Johnson still hit and miss and Siddle, Hilfenhaus and Bollinger having little to no Test experience.

1-Hayden (last test, not going to SA)
2-Katich
3-Ponting
4-Hussey
5-Clarke
6-Haddin
7-Johnson
8-Hauritz
9-Siddle
10-Hilfenhaus
11-Bollinger

Nothing against McDonald, but Symonds and Watson have struggled to make an impact and while he's a good player he's certainly no Symonds or Watson. We'll be better equipped to take 20 wickets with the five bowlers and no less able to score runs given the lack of contribution by Symonds anyway. Then for SA, pick Dave Hussey down the order and go back to 4 bowlers.

Wow, awesome logic there, McDonald couldnt possibly have an impact because the one day slogger and overrated hack have done nothing, yeah that makes sense...

No becuase average batsmen and bowlers are generally just average at test level, McDonald is average..another test with Victorians another loss:x

Way to miss the point. Do we keep going through all rounders one by one until we've tried them all before we pick a batsman? We've tried two, neither have set the world on fire. Why continue the obsession? McDonald is a good enough player and may make an impact, but the balance of the side hasn't suited an all rounder yet, why is it suddenly going to start now? Not to mention McDonald is obviously not a long term option, whereas Hilfenhaus and Bollinger are almost certainly going to be a part of our attack in the years to come

The point is the selectors obsession with all rounders has to stop IMO. We need 6 batsmen, Haddin, and then 4 bowlers. The continual picking of all rounders has done nothing but weaken our batting thus far, and for mine is a failed experiment. And you can put your pro-Victorian attack dog hat away....Dave Hussey needs to be at 6

Dave Hussey is not the answer, as a Victorian I have little faith in Hussey to win us Shield games at the moment, McDonald on the other hand is far more reliable. Besides, why isnt McDonald a long term option? Even if he performs he should be cast aside? He is still young, could have a very long career ahead, of course thats why Locky hates him, if he is succesful its bye bye Watson :D
