If Cameron Smith actually looked to his right side on accusation I reckon Aus would've won. There were times in the second half where JT was screaming for the ball, but alas he was standing on the right hand side. If Farrah or Ennis was hooker Aus would've probably won or we would've been a hell of a lot less predictable anyway.

Oh your last point I almost forgot.

Hayne did move to center and go looking for the ball late in the second half, but really it's not up to the player to dictate where he is positioned. They play to set structures unless instructed to do otherwise. If he was caught out of position because he came in looking for the ball the same num-nuts here would jump on him.

... and I was right, they were beaten hand over fist by the more physical Kiwis. I'm going to single out Ben Hannant as the biggest waste of space in the team. He is fat and slow and regularly gets bashed. "Best Australian backline in 30 years", but weakest Australian pack in 30 years. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Poms give it to us too.

how good is Adam Blair? Steps up in big games. Fantastic player.

Blair has been good for a number of seasons now but not outstanding...towards the end of this season he has stepped up a gear and will be looking for a big season in 2010.

His agility for a big guy is a definite strength and he has found his niche roaming wide.

Yeah he didn't have his best game, but still deserves his spot I think. The others I'm not convinced are the best players in Australia in their positions, they were certainly shown up against the Kiwis.

The other waste of space was Gallen, what a grub. I know they picked him to bring a bit of biff and agression to the forward pack, but there is a difference between big hit ups and presence, and constantly trying to start a fight.

He went at that kiwi blokes head then used both hands to drive his face into the ground then pushed and threw the first punch. That should have been a penalty to NZ big time.

The ref was not up to the quality of that game. WTF is "I'll leave it up to you to sort out", I'm surprised Lockyer didn't start p!ssing himself laughing.

Even though the Australian forwards didn't dominate, Lockyer didn't do much. Of the halves of both teams, I'd say Thruston narrowly beat Marshal as best on ground. I also thought the kiwi hooker had a good game.

Poms and frogs won't be able to touch either team after that. NZ v Australia final, can't wait!

I was half going for the Kiwis at that point. I want Aus/NSW to drop Gallen and rub his name from the record books as having ever represented either of them (if the sharks were smart they would do them same). Doesn't matter how good he is (or Grubby in his case) when he brings the game into disrepute every time he runs out onto the field.
