Isn't that what we said before this year? And last year? And the year before that?

The Cowboys are everyone's "bolters" every year.

LOL sadly, thats mostly true :(.

It seems that every year we fix something only to have something else turn to sh*t.

When our attack is outstanding our defence is completely non-existant (2007)

When we fix our massive defensive problems (or at least put a huge emphasis on it), our attack completely vanishes. (2008/9).

Injuries to key players definately havent been kind to us over the last 3 seasons but every team has to overcome those at times. I just hope we can keep a good portion of our core/spine on the field next year and recapture some of that confidence that we have lost over the last few years. We are a much much better team than we've shown recently.

The Coal & Allied Newcastle Knights have today secured former Australian International Antonio Kaufusi for the remainder of 2010, until the end of the 2012 season.

Kaufusi, 25, will join the Knights next week despite still having a contract which extended until the end of 2011 with the North Queensland Cowboys.

Kaufusi debuted for the Melbourne Storm against the Bulldogs in round 22, 2003, going on to represent Australia in 2006, Queensland in 2007 and Tonga in the World Cup of 2008.

He also enjoyed considerable success with the Melbourne Storm between 2003 and 2008, including two grand final appearances.

“With the way our current playing roster sits, the addition of a player of Antonio's experience and ability is a massive boost to us here at the Knights,” Head Coach Rick Stone said.

“I've kept a close eye on him since he began playing in the Queensland Cup in the early 2000s, then through some very successful years at the Storm, and more recently with the Cowboys.

“Antonio fits the exact requirements of what we need at this point in time and we are excited about him joining us next week.”

The former Bundaberg junior will commence training next week and will be available for selection when the Newcastle Knights play the Cronulla Sharks at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Sunday 11 July.

“I have enjoyed my time in North Queensland with the Cowboys and appreciate what they have done for me,” Kaufusi said.

“The opportunity the Knights have offered me was too good to knock back and I feel this is the best thing for myself and my family for the future.”

The Knights have also signed exciting Toyota Cup players Beau Henry and Siuatonga Likiliki.

Henry and Likiliki, both 20, were named in the 2009 Toyota Cup team of the year, with Henry as Player of the Year.

Henry was widely considered to be the most exciting prospect on the market and Likiliki has already indicated his potential talent by making his first grade debut for the Warriors last year against the Parramatta Eels.

Kris Keating to the Bulldogs:

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/kimmorley-ready-to-call-time/story-e6frexnr-1225884672085

...

It's expected Keating's signature will be announced in the next 48 hours, coming two weeks after the signing of Manly halfback Trent Hodkinson to an $800,000 deal.

The Sunday Telegraph has learned that Keating's contract is worth around $180,000 a season. His arrival at Belmore will reunite the two former Cabramatta clubmates.

The 21-year-old Eels star rejected an offer from Cronulla to join the Bulldogs.

Canterbury chief executive Todd Greenberg confirmed Keating would link with the Bulldogs, but he was unwilling to comment publicly.

disagree
he's not a team player, he's only in it for his origin jerseys
he's an average club footballer but one of those QLD players who brings his a game to SOO level and no where else

dont rate that signing at all

x 2. Average footballer, average human being. Only put in effort in games before Origin. What happened to all the home sickness & wanting to be with his disabled brother?

Glad he left the Raiders, we don't need pathetic wankers like him at our club.

This is pretty much it, although I'd go as far as saying that he often doesn't warrant selection over the likes of Taylor, Parker, Bolton etc. If he played for NSW he would be gone a long time ago.

Kris Keating is a smart signing for the Bulldogs. Hodkinson and Keating on their own have a lot to prove but have played rep football together and played junior football together. Could see that coming from a mile away.
