on i hope u mean

and by "massive" off season i hope u mean about 73 weeks:lol:
I'll be honest even if he had a massive off season I still wouldn't want him. But if I said that I'd get shot down in flames by some.

1) probably the same reason why you call that position hooker, it's a slang term...if we're argueing about that than life isn't as bad s you've made in the last few days buddy ;-)

2) well when he signed his extension in early 09, he was first grader, he played about 35 games under DA as a first grader, he's played a total of about 80 odd games for the club in first grade..he finished the year, as a first grader, he played a gf, in first grade...

need I go on?

1..... except that I could have sworn hooker was the official term.

2. Nope, still don't see a first-grader there. Surprised you do - although you've surprised me a few times in the past few days Stagger.

Interesting, thanks for the information Staggs.

780K?
I'm guessing about $100,000 was used up with the Atkins and Mcguire signings, maybe $150,000. So we probably still have about $630,000 to $680,000?? That is enough for a lot more depth signings or two/three big signings or one marquee signing.....could Willie Tonga and Matt Orford fit the two big signings bill?

mate, I'm pretty sure Atkins was signed a while ago, infact I was told at the second last home game as for Jerry, not sure when he signed. as for Tonga and ox, I know we're interested I know they're interested but you need to also cnsider that they're still under contract to their club and thats what makes it difficult..tbh Your guess is as good as mine.

Perhaps he should stop having massive off-seasons and start having massive seasons instead.

Thanks mate, yeah I heard off gustarny a long while ago too that Atkins had signed but nothing came out on paper that I saw so I didn't think it was confirmed, I will take your word for it though. I see what you mean about Orford and Tonga, I guess we will have to wait and see....who knows I guess, there have been a lot of recent rumours about Tonga wanting a release :? guess it depends on Bradford and the Cowboys, not us......

So it's probably about $700,000 or so we still have  wonder what's going to happen with all that money....have to wait and see I guess.

So long as we bought him for the right $$$ he could be quite useful. Certainly willing to give him a shot at the very least :D

Gee some great signings by our board.:sarcasm::sarcasm:

I know ill get toweled for this, but I dont give a sh*t.

Everybody is failing to see the picture, in regard to our board. They decided to punt our coach, for unknown reasons, without being given a fair go. This happened during GF week, after months of speculation that he was gone, for a rookie SK.

Only 1 day later they announce the signing of Casey Mcguire. Another 24 hours later they announce the signings of another nuffie in Jordan Atkins.

Does anyone realize what the board is trying to do here??????? They initially made the sacking public during GF week, to minimize the scrutiny of the board by the media. Obviously, the board didnt want to much attention, so that is why they timed it as they did.

Within 48 hours of the sacking of DA, 2 average players are announced as signed. These players would of been a done deal weeks or months ago, but the timing to announce it now, is to stem the flow of backlash the board will cop from fans.

On top of that, the board uses Terry to come on here to try and justify the reasoning behind the sacking. When was the last time Terry posted????? Im curious. Was it when 3p were trying to get on the board, and he was preaching.

People beware, our club is being run by manipulative little maggots, that will do anything to please themselves.

For crying out loud, our ceo is a ex politician, that cant be trusted.

They know nothing about running a club, or the game.

Whats even funnier is MAXGIA or whatever his name is has not even posted.

SOunds like whichever board member he is has not even bothered to log on. Look at the facts & take off the blue & gold glasses people & you will see what the board has done since they came into power.

Rumours of Kearney or Stuart have been there since about round 12 last year. Dont believe the spin they are putting on it. This was a excuse to get the job done. Osbourne is a fat thieving prick. Alarm bells shoulld have rang then.

How can you say a coach was punted because he wasn't good enough & in the same sentence say he is a good coach & will have success somewhere else.

Pull you head out of the f**ken sand

There is a long history of coaches not being 'good enough' at certain clubs but finding success elsewhere mate. Brian Smith is an example of a coach who didn't really do well at the Knights but as soon as he went to the Roosters he has had much improved success......

The correct wording is 'not right for the job'.

And no, I won't pull my head out of the sand because it is warm in there

FFS kid, if you don't know your facts please, and don't take offense, shut the f**k up.

The knights, until BS announced he was going to the roosters were in the top 4, and were the only team that had beaten every top 8 team at that point.

Hang in there Boxy. Don't let blokes like that get you down. He and a few of his mates are working themselves into an hysterical frenzy.

Best you keep an eye on those signings apparently there are some more on the way?

I do know my facts, I watched almost every single Knights game last year mate.
I'm commenting on their overall seasons under Smith, and there are better examples anyway that I could of used-true.
If you want to swear and get angry about it that's your problem, I'm not going to get into a slang-match with you.

Brian Smith did quite a reasonable job at Newcastle. It was always going to be tough for them life after Joey as the area wasn't producing the juniors that they were in the late 90's. He had to make a lot of tough decisions there and recruit players from other clubs something Newcastle hadn't really done before because they didn't have to.I don't think any coach could have done much better with the side than he did. And because of the structures put in place by Brian Smith the club is now a lot better off.
