Can't speak for the players, but sometimes when the "team" makes a pact, you don't agree with it but neglect to speak up because sometimes its just easier to go along.

Iv seen it happen at my old work. Our "team" would make a pact, a couple would disagree and not say anything and it becomes a false agreement.

Making pacts like that is just a load of shit anyway. Who ever from the leadership group thought that getting off the drink for 2 weeks would help the season is just delusional and just thought of it to be seen as a good, proactive leader.

If they were insistent on doing something for focus and morale, they should organise a massive night away from public eyes where the players can get pissed and do absolutely anything. Gives the players something to look forward to.

The culture at the Roosters stinks.

Feel sorry for Anasta and Brian Smith there trying to uphold standards. Maybe 3 of the last 5 seasons from the Chooks have ended with them just giving up and dropping standards all over the place.

Pathetic.

they made a pact, that could possible help them as a team, three tossspots let everyone else down, based on all reports that is

Yeah, you're right, I mean they totaly waited until 4 weeks after they mathematicaly could no make the finals to do something about the season

Dally M Captain of the year, don't criticise.

If they were insistent on doing something to help the season they'd have done it in May in not the last week of July

How many years did you play at the club?

I trained for a major white water race last year, gave up booze for 3 months leading up to the event. It isn't hard when you have committment!

A lot of people up in arms over nothing. This is what will happen: The roosters will not sack carney, not until they have/haven't signed Dugan. Carney will come out in the media and say sorry for slipping up and get another tattoo. Brian Smith will be continue to be relaxed.

FURIOUS Sydney Roosters captain Braith Anasta and other senior players will help decide the fate of Todd Carney, Nate Myles and Frank Paul Nuuausala after they broke a self-imposed team booze ban by drinking until 2am yesterday.

However, the likes of Anasta, fullback Anthony Minichiello and prop Jason Ryles are understood to be angry that Carney, Myles and Nuuausala had broken a team commitment to refrain from drinking alcohol when they attended several eastern suburbs hotels on Monday night.

The ban was proposed by the senior players, who are determined to ensure the club avoids winning a second wooden spoon in three years, and they feel let down after all members of the team agreed to stay off the drink.
While Carney, Myles and Nuuausala have done nothing to warrant the involvement of the police or NRL, their actions are considered a slap in the face for Anasta and the Roosters' senior players.
Watts, whose contract has been terminated by the Roosters, yesterday tweeted: ''Hahaha get rid of me …. Are u sure i was the problem…..Plzzzzz!!!!!!!!''
However, there is now a suspicion that if Carney has been unlucky to have been caught out twice then he may have broken undertakings not to drink on other occasions and got away with it.

Carney won't be sacked by the roosters no matter what he does.

But breaking a team booze ban. Seriously, don't these newspaper people have better shit to write about. I mean who gives a flying testicle about each teams booze bans and who breaks them you dickwads. How about an articulate well written article about the game of Rugby League. Oh wait that's well beyond their actual capability.

This is how it will pan out...

Carney will stay quiet, the Roosters will announce that they are suspending and not sacking him, Carney will then come out with some sob story about personal demons and needing more counselling...6 months later it will all happen again.

they are both losers.

if rorters want to change the culture at the club they should ban them from playing for the rest of the season and put in some youngsters, season is already over for them anyway.

It's the last straw for mine.

If the Roosters have any credibility as an NRL club left, they should f**k Carney off without further ado. Otherwise any shred of respect I had left for them is gone.

Any club that would keep Smith as coach won't hesitate stopping Carney from leaving, no matter how hard he tries.

Smith is carcinogenic to any club he comes into contact with and it's a long recovery process after he's finished. He infects not only the players but management . . . ask Parramatta
