Melbourne Storm cheated last year and were disqualified - simple as that. The tragedy with the Melbourne Storm cheating the cap is that we will never know if they would have won last year's comp with a *legal* team. Just like we will also never know if Parramatta really would have won in 2009 or Manly in 2007.

And if Saints don't win the premiership this year it means and proves nothing on what would have happened last year because it is extremely difficult for a team to win back-to-back premierships anyway.

As a Sydneysider I would obviously want to have a Sydney team in the grand final, but for ratings only a Brisbane vs Melbourne Grand Final would smash the AFL one (and might still do if a Sydney team was in it anyway). This would guarantee huge ratings in all 3 cities although it might be fractionally down in Sydney.
