Yes it's fine to follow as many as you like.

Obviously Saints come first, but I'm always excited about Liverpool in the EPL and New Orleans in the NFL.

Cricket is obviously a given as it's all summer long and I'll always follow the Socceroos games.

Union, I don't really follow Super 15, but am always up for the Bledisloe and I'm very pumped for the World Cup (All Blacks)

I'll watch AFL if I'm bored and there's not much on and if I'm betting on it. Don't really follow a team but jumped on the Swans bandwagon in '05 and prompty jumped off and then had a passing interest in St Kilda last year.

I didn't bother reading through the rest of the thread but anybody who endorses the EPL as a legitimate competition is a douchebag. Whoever has the money wins. What is the point of going for say Bolton? They raise a good player, can't afford to keep him and then thats it. As Doug Stanhope puts it, "Have some character and pick the underdog. Going for these rich teams is like going to the casino and cheering for the house." He is right. f**k the EPL.

But to specifically answer this thread. A-League. No. Nothing will change. You can follow whatever sport you want, but the signing of Kewell means nothing.
Beacause whils tthe race for the premiership is the main goal, there are numerous subplots throughout the season. The race for the champions league places, race for europa league, FA Cup and the relegation, eg the last day of last season when the bottom two places changed numerous times across the different games. Not to mention the thrill for lower clubs upsetting big clubs

I dont follow the A-league, no connection to any of the sides. Massive rugby league fan, follow test/shield cricket very closely as well as EPL, have a passing interest in AFL (Essendon), although less than it used to be (and i very much dislike the organisation). I've disliked Yawnion for a long time but I find it watchable at provincial level, ITM Cup from NZ in particular. Union is probably the only sport that is better at lower levels, because alot more football is played compared with the penalty goal shoot outs of international and super 15 rugby.

American sports bore me

I don't mind watching the a league when a team who plays a positive brand of soccer is on, such at melbourne victory, roar (last year)..

nothing more boring then a 0-0 draw though

Of the options I chose NRL only as it's the only local competition I follow but I watch loads of soccer and love it just as much as RL. Don't care for the A-League though.

I usually watch 5+ games of NRL a week.

If the waratahs are playing a big game and its like cowboys v manly I'll flick between the two, if not I'll flick over at HT and in breaks to check the scores. Same with the wallabies.

Hate soccer, but a lot of my mates like it so if we are just all chilling on a Sunday arvo its not unusual to watch the soccer if Sydney is playing. Never been to a soccer game in my life though. Actually when I get home pissed I'll usually watch an EPL game till I fall asleep.

I'm a member of the SCG, so I take 3 mates out to every game. They like it, they buy the beers, works out well. I usually flick over mid game to see scores, but very rarely watch a full swans game and couldn't watch a game that didn't have Sydney in it.

I really got into sports betting early this year so watched a fair bit of NBA, NFL and MLB. Don't really have teams, just will watch if its a good game (or I have a bet on).

Edit: Oh and the cricket, if I have nothing on during a test I'll sit there and watch it all. Will be going out to some of the shield and T20 games this year coz of the scg membership, but I used to only head out to the first day of the Sydney test previously.

Not so long ago I watched NRL, AFL and union. Around 2003 I got bored of union when it was nothing but penalty goals and drop goals. Can't remember when I lost interest in AFL but the last few years have me hating it on account of the fact that, for starters, it is so sanitised. Add to this the love in it gets and how many of it's top scribes have been firing broadsides at the game I love for the better part of a decade and it just becomes too much, especially living in Melbourne.

NRL, by a margin of forever. Missed like 4 games this year or so. Only started watching really in 2008, when we beat Brisbane in the prelim. I was a bandwagoner of the highest order lol. Been a bit of a roller coaster since then.

Went to Melbourne for round one to watch storm v manly, on the friday, we went to the Limerick Arms, and they had advertised NRL on the big screen. And of course, being Melbourne, turned it off for the goddamn AFL. Anyhow, we were about 9 pints into the night, and we were enjoying it, the locals were explaining just what the hell was going on. Got home, and tried to watch another game sober. Big mistake. Haven't watched another game since.

I followed NFL last year but didn't see many games, pain in the arse programming. Going to watch it this year with the online season pass. Go Denver.

Tried to watch soccer a few times, but try as i might, i couldn't convince myself that 1-2 was an exciting score.

Yawnion is an apt description Rugby. Hate it with a passion.

TL;DR NRL and NFL

NRL and aleague but, i pay more attention to American winter sports than the a league tbh. I do agree the rectangular field codes could do a lot more to cooperate on facilites/funding at a junior levels.

League is the only sport I take an active interest in. I like watching the rugby 7's but the 15 a side game bores me. NFL is ok when there's no league on. Can't watch soccer or afl.

Rugby League

NFL.

That is all.

I was getting into the A league via the Fury and being in the Ftroop but since the FFA killed my team, they can go f**k themselves.

A major benefit of being multi-codal is that you're unlikely to have all teams doing poorly at the same time.

For example:
Storm - doing very well
Essendon - improving
Victory - average at best
Rebels - consistent losers

I wonder whether I would like AFL as much if I didn't grow up in Victoria. That's probably just a cultural thing though - who knows why the Brits like soccer so much when there's rugby around?

If Bunniesboy is Bi-codal, then I'm definitely Codophobic.

Rugby League is my staple diet.

As a kid, I thought it prudent to adpot sides from other codes - helped with the schoolyard bullying I could cop if the Eels had a bad result. So I decided to scratch into my wooden ruler the words "Randwick, Marconi, Footscray, West Ham, Green Bay Packers"

And that was it. F*ck 'em. Now my NRL alternative is the ESL. Everything else pales into insignificance.

The difference between rugby league and other sports for me is I can watch a bad NRL game and still enjoy it, but it has to be a top quality game of another sport for me to enjoy it.

I like international Union and soccer is intruging to me. I'm going to see if I can get into the A-League next season, but really any game I've seen of it hasn't been very entertaining so I've switched off. EPL is on at ridiculous hours and doesn't interest me, but I'm keen to one day try and delve into the other European leagues.

I despise AFL for the way they run their game.
