Look. It won't fit in with the rest of the Shire, this development. Its far too modern.
And I'm not saying that to be condescending. Its red brick quarter acres down there as far as you can see.
Unleaded petrol and VHS are tipped to be the big thing this coming summer.
I know you are trying to be comical but there is alot of truth in this. I live in the area as a renter. I have saved my ring out for a deposit and want to buy something around the Nth Woolooware/Cronulla region. The area is perfect for me because I surf, I work in the south of Sydney and Ive got a tonne of friends and family around,
and I like being able to walk to the games. Sure, its a bit of a basketcase if you want a night out, but Im not adverse to getting on a train or in a cab to go to Newtown or Surry Hills and hit some real pubs.
Problem is, If you get away from the waterfronts (which is where my budget takes me) there are very, very few decent properties available. In terms of infrastructure, there is a massive shortage of supermarkets, medical, and even entertainment for the existing residents, let alone new ones. Sure; the mall has Northies, restaurants and bars but compare them to the rest of Sydney "hot spots" (And I should have some idea, in the last 5 years I have lived in Newtown, Surry Hills and Bondi as well as Woolooware) the area is MILES BEHIND. Parking is a nightmare, service is shocking and the range is tiny.
The sharks development assists in all of these fields AND it helps with the problems of an overcrowded Sydney and this is why it will get through. Sure there are concerns with the heights, but Carchs picture shows the true impact on the "neighbours". Sydney is bursting at the seams. You cant keep lumping people in the extreme west and expecting them to commute, so areas like Woolooware, which are ideal places to live are going to have to shoulder their share of the burden.
* I would like to preface this by saying that YES I am a sharks supporter, but as a local resident my quality of life is my priority and the football team a distant second to my "day to day".
