I hope not, I quiet enjoy talking cricket to Victorians about cricket.

They really dont have much to crow about lately.

With the opportunity in front of them, I'll be dissappointed if neither Punter or Pup goes on and gets a double.

Nah you guys are a bit of alright (even that gypo twizzler).

Didn't think it was possible for india to find a captain with fewer ideas than ganguly. Enter Dhoni.

Clarke always reminded me of Mark Waugh style being very attractive to watch in full flight. As well as that they both had the talent to average in the 50s but only averaged mid 40s. And another way he is M Waughesque is he's never got a real big ton.

Waughs best was 153 or so and Clarkes is 168. Hopefully he beats that today.

that pattinson kid goes alright. even the siddler's starting to look like he's of genuine international standard.

Enjoying this fantastic captains knock?

Very much so...is it true that runs scored by new south welshmen are worth double?

f**k off.

There has never been a batsmen as stylish as Mark Waugh. Clarke is nowhere near it. he has a number of unorthodox shots.

You will never find a batsmen like M.Waugh again, because he waited for the ball and used precision and timing instead of big swings and rushed shots.

Ponting is more like Mark Waugh than Clarke.

And Ponting is nowhere near as stylish as Mark Waugh.

Ticket prices very expensive and first four days all working ones. Not ideal.

I'd love to see the New Year's test moved forward to Jan 2-6 (like it used to be), but didn't the ICC implement a mandatory minimum 3 day gap between any two test matches?

Most ppl would be on holidays now, but yeah, I was surprised at how expensive the tickets are, even in the lower concourse area it's nearly $100 for adult tickets. Take a family to the game, add overpriced drinks and food (now that they're cracking down on ppl bringing their own food and drinks into the game. This is not just a problem associated with cricket; this issue has also been raised by league fans from certain clubs. Generally speaking, the price of food and drinks at sporting events is absolutely exorbitant), and it turns into a very expensive day at the cricket.

Another comment: I don't know if media blackouts has anything to do with it as well. I remember before 2005/06 season, tests and ODIs that weren't sold-out were only partially broadcasted into the city where the game was held. For days at test matches that weren't sold-out, only the last 10 mins of session 2 and the last session were broadcasted into the host city (for Sydney, this was 3:30-6pm) and for ODIs, only the first two hours (2:30-4:30pm) of the game were shown, with 1hr highlights of the remainder of the game broadcasted late at night.

I didn't say Clarke was exactly like Waugh. Just that in full flight he reminded me of him. Have you been watching yesterday and today? Clarkes innings has been a lot more "precision and timing" than "big swings and rushed shots".

Outstanding knocks from both Ponting and Clarke. Every chance they'll go on and both post 200- plenty of time for them.
