We could bat through till stumps tomorrow, it's only day 2.

Although Derpman probably would declare now, as it may take 3 days to get them out.
Not at all. I was much less confident with our bowlers.

Our inform bowlers will take care of them here.

I have zero problems with us batting until Clarke gets 300 and Hussey gets a 100. If we're 650 I'll have no problem.

2 days should be more than enough, if we can't finish them off in that time then another day ain't going to help.
I'm hoping for Clarke 300 and then onto the world record.

We could, but I just think Clarke won't drag it on for that long.

Don't forget this is only the first inning. No need to rush into a declaration.

Clarke would want to score as many runs as possible. 700? Sure, why not? But I think if they haven't been dismissed around tea or just before tea tomorrow we might see a declaration then. By then we should have scored about 700 with a lead of 500. That gives us two days and one session to bowl them out.

He'd be silly not to. Ashwin will become more of a handful on a day 4/5 pitch and it's not like the good ole days where you could bank on the top 6 to deliver the goods in the 2nd innings (hobart?).

VVS Laxman (lol) and Dravid still haunt Australian cricket captains considering early declarations/follow-ons, we'll bat till we can't bat no more.

If Australia can bat til stumps tomorrow then they should. Why declare when Clarke is batting so well? If Clarke gets out late tomorrow with only bowlers to follow then think about declaring, otherwise bat on. If they can't knock india over in 2 days then they don't deserve to win anyway.

f**king oath. There's no need to think about a declaration before the last drinks break tomorrow. We should be thinking 700 if we can bat that long and hope the pitch starts to break up. I wouldn't be volunteering to bowl on this pitch whilst it's looking as beautiful to bat on as it is now. If 2 days isn't enough to win it then we'd never win it anyway.

If the lower order doesn't crumble we can and should bat at least the first 2 sessions of tomorrow. Thanks to India being so shit in their 1st dig there is a shitload of time. We're going to win this by an innings or we'll draw.

We owe these pricks from 8 years ago when they hit 700 here, f**k them. Lets put these wimps to the sword.

This is the perfect time for Clarke to officially take Ponting's mantle. By topping Punter's best score, it'll be a huge achievement. It won't make him a better batsmen (Punter has been doing it well for far too long) but it will put him at the top of Australian cricket at this moment.

Is 400 on the cards then?..;-)

Haha possibly, not going to get too much of a better opportuntiy. If he is there at the end of the day he will be on around 250-260 and then they should bat two sessions tomorrow at least. He's a chance if he scores at a good clip!

100 run partnership in 18 overs.

At this rate, if we bat until tea tomorrow we might have a lead of 600. That's enough for a declaration.
