Worst refereeing decision you've seen

There's been some interesting calls in recent games, just been looking over the Raiders v Tigers matchday thread and I think Skeepes anger "It's a f**king knockon!" was justified.

It got me thinking about the worst calls I've ever seen and I think I've got to give it to the time when Manly played the Dragons a few years ago and Gasnier literally drops the ball on the line and they awarded a try. That was by far the worst call I've ever seen. I saw the replay and was like yep, knock on, move along. The commenators said the same. Then they replayed it again. And again. And 10 more times. And gave it. Made me sick to my stomach.

The "strip" call against us in 2010 while playing Brisbane which gave the Broncos what could have been a match winning try.

Every single angle showed the ball simply falling out of folau's hands, but the ref clearly ruled on the assumption that Mini "must" have played at it. Rushed his decision, then literally as the green light is flashing up another angle is shown which shows folau clearly throwing the ball away when he tries to reach out and put it down.

The reaction of the commentary team was absolutely priceless

Thankfully we managed to score a great try to get the win back.

Ben Barba being awarded that try last year after so clearly bouncing the ball was also ludicrous. Even more so by the fact the NRL actually used it in their promotions this year (with a big ol' fireball added to the shot to hide the fact he isn't holding the ball when it touches down)

You'll see a lot before the video referee came in.

Illawarra fans will remember the 1992 Preliminary Final, there were some shockers. I thought a forward pass call against Brett Rodwell, but clearly went backwards. Cost em the Grand Final.

Lauiti'iti's send-off vs the Cowboys in 200 (I think).

The refs were caught joking about how they'd f**ked it up at half-time, luckily we still won.

The Eels winning "try" off a forward pass vs Manly a couple of years ago in Rnd 2 (i think) has to be right up there. It was literally 6-7 metres forward.

Absolutely criminal that one.

Gasnier basketball dribble try has to take the cake. Simply for the fact that it was looked so many times and was so obviously dropped, yet still awarded.

and old rabs every week telling us how its a great try and every time he says it i yell at the tv "it wasnt a f**king try"

been some shockers where the ball has been dropped a good 1m off the ground and awarded a try.

some of those decisions against the warriors with the tigers last year where disgraceful

Round 10, 2009, Bulldogs v Dragons. The video ref even admitted he made the wrong call. Turned out to cost us the minor premiership.

Enough said.

was it amos roberts who rolled the ball over someones foot and it got given a try? i think harrigans analogy was "hand - ball - ground" and thtas why it was awraded despite the fact it was rolled

The Jamie Soward "obstruction" call? Yeah that was a shocker.

It was probably the incident that earnt Soward the "diver" tag as well.

The Billy Slater "strip" in the 06 Grand Final.
The Shaun Berrigan shepherd that wasn't called in the 06 Grand Final.
The Matt King no try in the 06 Grand Final.
Justin Hodges throwing the ball over the sideline and Brisbane getting the scrum feed in the 06 Grand Final.

Game. Set. Match.

This one wins because it was absolutely blatant and took place in a Grand Final.

Either that linesman was grossly incompetent or a cheat. Im still not sure which...

It's a doozy alright. He actually has both feet outside the field of play.
