The thing is Khawaja almost single handedly saved Australia in a test match in South Africa a few years ago. Might have been the one where Cummins hit the winning runs. This season he has batted more often on green tops for good scores, his century against Tasmania in Hobart a month back was all class on a very difficult deck. Hughes has scored more runs, on more roads, against more depleted state sides i.e. vs. Victoria. If anything it proves one thing, anyone can cash in against weaker opposition on roads and lead the run scoring. Now to be consistent on all types of decks against various oppositions that is the key.
Hughes has talent, heaps of it but has tendencies to get trapped on the same manner and lose confidence quickly when pressure starts being applied. So does Khawaja but no where near the capacity that Hughes has.
And just to verify you talk out of your ass, what are Khawaja's technique problems? Because last time I checked both Mark Taylor, Ian and Greg Chappel, Bill Lawry, Alan Border, Mark Waugh and Matthew Hayden have all praised Khawaja's batting technique. All call it the best in the country. What would they know? Youve obviously played tests and scored over 5000runs... it's his fielding that was the problem. Something easier fixed then a batting technique change. He wouldn't have been made captain of the chairman's side if his fielding was below par still.
But please mate go on and wrote a thesis of how Khawaja has technique problems.
BTW I hope Hughes makes a 100 this coming test. Both deserve to be in the team. The Hughes' and Warner's to cash in against poor bowling on good batting decks and the Khawaja's and Clarke's to save our butts when the top order fails against good bowling on green tops.
