Well this is the interesting point here. Wasn't Greenberg approached to do the job but knocked it back?????? If that is true then why jump now, so soon after saying no to the NRL position???? Or was it media pushing for Greenberg to be given a role late last year????

Not sure now if Greenberg was approached by the NRL last year. But I do remember seeing his name get a mention in the media.

The move by Greenberg to the NRL is a developing story. But the way I see it right now is that Greenberg will slowly but surely take the main role and Smith will be gone by year end.

In my opinion Smiths signing as CEO was not a good move by Mr Grant.

I think like everyone else they've realised Greenburg is suited for the role and they're getting him in now to make sure he's ready to take over sooner than later. Probably a good move.

I don't think many did. They tried hard to sell it but not many have bought it.

Time to start again - again.

The NRL has called a press conference at 1pm today where embattled chief executive Dave Smith is expected to unveil a raft of management changes.

Remind me - why is he embattled? Hadley, Slothfield and Chewbecca angling for him is one thing, but I'm not aware he's 'embattled'..?

Whose job is it going to be to have to put up with talking to Ray Hadley and co? Would want to be on a sizeable pay packet!

Surely the more the troglodytes target him, the more the thinking RL fan will support him.

What makes you think Smith will be gone by year end?

and how was appointing a highly succesful businessman a bad thing?

So does this mean Greenberg is going to be Smith's 3rd personal assistant? :sarcasm:

As long as he isn't there to take calls from the media 4-5 times a day I'm happy.

Ah because the ARLC has just appointed a 2IC to help him out and are about to announce a restructure. Why else?????

How do you know the 2IC wasn't smiths idea?

The best CEO's know their limitations and surround themselves with good people.

Amd you don't do management shake ups on day one of a new CEO. You evaluate the structure after joining and then make the changes.

This happens all the time in the business world.
