So which club is willing to pay or has cap space next year to pay Hoppa and Peats? Bit late to find a new club that is willing to pay the dollars I would have thought.

Honestly can things get any worse, at least our CEO is not dead. Great to hear from him about a week to late.......

They didn't hate him. But one disliked him enough to punch him.

This appointment will not end well.

The player that punched him was a player he sacked ( so Taylor wouldn't have been on Xmas card list) and also has a reputation of punching people (anasta)

Yes maybe it was poor judgement Taylor drinking with his players (but he may have just been there for an hour to pop in and say g'day) but it doesn't mean players won't respect him.

Sugar coat it all you like. There is a reason he has been looked over for other jobs despite his credentials.

I am still confident all our recruits will be here come November.
same. if and when there's a direct quote from a player saying they won't be at parra or a media release from parra saying otherwise then it's all good for pre-season.

it won't stop the papers printing crap right up until november 1 though (or whatever date the contract cycle kicks in).

This is a strange reaction, when the coaching issue first came up, JT appeared to be the forums front tuner. Now with some ineptitude from Sharp and support for BA ( who would be my choice) we panic that 1 of the best 2 young coaches available May be wrong

How do we know, if player backs out, the world goes inane I would think JT would be quick to react and start a process to sort it out, he certainly is no dummy and is a winner

Because Sharp hasn't acted well, let the coach coach. Let's get behind whoever is appointed

This had to be the only reason, hopefully he has learnt from his mistakes. But yeah you have to worry when no other club has wanted to touch him.

Didn't Sharp along time ago when there were rumours Ricky might leave say that if Ricky left we'd just go and get Taylor? I think it was Sharp who said that.

yep. whichever of the two it is, when they have been officially confirmed, should be talking to the senior players and getting in touch with the new recruits to let them know the landscape. sharp's handling of this seems nothing short of amateur. like many have said, all this should have been left behind closed doors until it was finalised.

But also what other jobs has he applied for and has been over looked for ?

Apparently he has just missed out to Stuart last year for the eels job

Also since he left Souths, realistically what other jobs have become available where he was a chance ? Nrl jobs don't come up very often. Since he left Souths here are some of the jobs that have come

Tigers - yes he could have been an option. But other good options were also overlooked
Dragons - recruited internally
Dogs - hasler enough said
Souths - no chance
Roosters - recruited an internal candidate that had gone oversea for opportunities
Cowboys - yes could have been an option but no media reports he applied. Also may have focused on eels job
Warriors - as above
Manly - recruited internally
Knights - Bennett enough said
Penrith - they were looking for an experienced operator
Broncos - recruited internally
Eels - targeted Stuart but was nearly selected

So there were only two opportunities (warriors and tigers) and considering how many candidates there are it really doesn't mean being overlooked is an indication of ability.

Arthur has now been over looked for maybe three jobs (cowboys/eels and maybe tigers) that doesn't mean he doesn't have the ability to be the head coach just that he hasnt had the opportunity. In fact he was overlooked for the cowboys job by green who wasn't even an assistant coach but the under 20 coach - does this mean he is crap? No
