Lee Mossop is going to be an incredible signing... Tomkins gets all the Wigan press but it's players like Mossop who are able to generate the space for him to run into.

I'm sorry, I don't agree. And really, 4 million dollars is just being silly.
So, what if I say that within reasonable limits Jarryd Hayne is priceless?
I think if you had someone like Cameron Smith in this years Parramatta side, with no other stars around him, he would not have anywhere near the impact of Hayne. Same for Thurston or Slater or Inglis or ....... (in my opinion only, of course.) In terms of the impact Hayne has on a team, I think he is the best player in the world. I therefor believe that whatever he is paid (within reason) is worth it. That's my reasoning.
I think Melbourne have shown that you can spend the majority of your cap on three players, and have the other positions filled with a rotation of decent players on moderate wages. I think this is one way of using the salary cap. There are other ways, of course. You can more evenly distribute the wages over a greater number of players (as Manly seem to do, and perhaps Cronulla).

I'd say you don't really understand what the word 'priceless' means.

I rate him. He's nothing flashy or explosive, but he makes metres and keeps the ruck honest in defence. He's safe and you know what you get from him every time.

As long as he can defend and play long minutes. I think both mossop and peats defensive abilities are going to make a huge difference in our performance this season.

He will be locked in a good tussle with Ualesi to secure one of the limited lock/tight-forward spots in our NRL team. Both should hopefully get a run in the Auckland 9's squad (which I am already way more invested in than the Allstars game) which will be great to watch - even if it doesn't prove to have a significant bearing on Rd.1 selections due to the difference in formats.

I thought Santi played on the edge?

I believe he is capable of playing both roles (edge/tight) but in the context of our team balance I think Edwards/Loko/Mau/Tanginoa (or Pauli in a pinch) probably give offer us more physicality on the fringes.

With Ualesi or Santi playing up the middle we get the most out of their big motors and they can use use their ball-playing skills to link quickly to either edge (Ualesi did a lot of this in the NYC) or simply catch out the big men around the ruck with short balls or offloads.
