No... Not being active in locking up guys means guys will go.

Every single player is more valuable now than they were 6 months ago. They're all on the market fielding offers which they will expect us to match or at least get close to matching.

If 4 players prices get bumped up by even a measly $50k thats $200k less to work with. It quickly adds up and our roster will be depleted a hell of a lot faster because we didn't prioritise retention high enough.

Look at the side that beat us in the GF. They have 8 from that 17 unsigned for 2022. Their CEO and coach are going

Do you think they want that? Or the Roosters have 8 starters including Tedesco unsigned for 2022. You don't think they too would prefer everyone locked up?

Easy to say it should of happened but plenty of sides with the same issues. Some better run than us

I like to look around when judging and when Souffs, Roosters and Storm have the same issues. Says more about the player market then anything

It’s not just that we could’ve used Hetherington is Leniu left, it’s the fact that not having Leniu or Tamou actually gives Leniu’s manager a stronger bargaining position. He’s not stupid, he knows we won’t want to lose a third prop.

Could also not bother and swap laurie for this year and get russel packer for a back up prop, for nothing basically, im sure he'll have no problems beating up folks as long as he gets some 1st grade... thats only if Leniu leaves. But the other issue might be he might beat up ivan too

According to David Riccio, although the Dogs have made Burton an offer of $1.6 mil the Sharks are now also very interested in him.

Sharks have heaps of money available in 2022. Looking increasingly unlikely we can keep him.
