    thats not true at all! the UWA touch team isnt biased agaisnt 1st years its biased against everyone who isn't great friends with everyone on it I got invited to play for it in the mixed inter-uni touch tournament because they were short on numbers and boy did i get made to feel welcome. Cool...

    they did area tournaments to try and build interest, and to identify talent. anyone they thought was good enough was invited to the state gala day and then played in front of the state selectors next year they should have a full on school comp, with a grandfinal and stuff

    the year 6s and 7s of many schools participated in tournaments leading up to the state trials all kids who participated were given a 'buy one get oone free' ticket as were all kids who actually played in friday nights state trials the WARL has heaps of the things
