No national TV coverage for Origin

The administration at the NRL should be ashamed when their showcase event, the State of Origin series, can't get live television coverage on a national scale. This is the Channel Nine schedule for Perth and Adelaide on Wednesday night: 7.30 Customs (rpt) 8.00 Two and a Half Men (rpt)...

Move all club games to ANZ like the AFL do with games at the MCG?

Melbourne has a lot better set up than Sydney in that all of its stadiums are located centrally which makes transport easy from all parts of the city. It's a lot harder for Sydney for people in the far west to get to SFS or other areas to get to ANZ. Within a 3km radius from the City Centre...

    inglis scouted by the nfl

Yet Several AFL players have made it in the NFL. Darren Bennett Ben Graham Sav Rocca Chris Bryan Rocca, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, is one of the league's best punters.

    My daily drivel

It's a fine stadium but doesn't compare to the MCG, which is by far Australia's best stadium. Also Melbourne already has a world class rectangular venue, Rod Laver Arena.

9 to show Storm live into Melbourne

At the moment anti-siphoning legislation prevents them from airing NRL games on their digital subchannels (9HD, GO!) before they air on the main channel (9). Hopefully this stupid law will change very soon.

9 to show Storm live into Melbourne

I have a Storm membership and yes I have a ticket to the Test as well.

9 to show Storm live into Melbourne

Just because the game is usually delayed into Sydney and Brisbane, that doesn't make it a good thing. Good for the TV stations maybe, but not good for the fans. Live sport will always be preferable to delayed so I can't understand why people would complain about the game being shown at 3pm...

    nrl coverage

The NRL got a more high profile page placment for the Cowboys-Storm match report than it usually gets in the Sunday Herald Sun today, opposite the AFL ladder page and before the AFL match reports. No mention of any other NRL game though apart from about 4 lines in the results listings.

9 to show Storm live into Melbourne

Postcards always airs 5.30pm Sunday and will provide a bigger lead in to the news than NRL. Why would you actually want it on delay? Sport broadcasts should always be live. Could you imagine watching the Melbourne Cup on a half hour delay?

    Good riddance to Folau

This thread should really be deleted. There is no room in Rugby League or any Australian sport for religious or racial intolerance.

Melbourne Rebels in $1m bid for Billy Slater & Israel Folau

I was a massive fan of Folau as a Storm player, but I'd rather see him playing for the Rebels than Broncos anyday...

How many people have foxtel just for the league?

People get Foxtel for many reasons although NRL is definitely one of the main drawcards. The major reasons I think people get Foxtel would be: - Live and exclusive NRL games - Live and exclusive AFL games - The only place to watch A League and Super 14 - Live horse, harness and greyhound...

    Haters, back off

He has never announced he is leaving Rugby League yet. Although if he leaves Brisbane and comes back to Melbourne to play Rugby, he will be seen as a turncoat after his excuse to leave the Storm was to be closer to his family in Brisbane.

ABC 702 broadcasting AFL instead of NRL

Theres no need as the game is live on Nine into Melbourne. Who knows about Adelaide and Perth - you couldn't really blame them for not caring about RL after what the game did to the Reds and the Rams.

Who are the top three most supported clubs/teams in Melb outside the AFL?

Let's not forget that the Victorian Racing Club gets crowds of 130k+ every Spring Carnival

    24000 Crowd, Well Done Melbourne

To be fair, the MCG was actually sold out yesterday so people couldn't walk up and buy a ticket to the AFL. However, despite everyone on this site framing it as a NRL v AFL contest, a large amount of Collingwood and Essendon supporters, myself included, went straight from the MCG to Etihad to...

    24000 Crowd, Well Done Melbourne

Still bitter after 1999? That one still stands in the record books, pity Mundine couldn't lead your group of Dragon-Steeler failures to victory.

Should Channel Nine still show the Grand Final live in Melbourne?

Is there any point in Channel Nine showing the Grand Final live in Melbourne this year? Interest in the game in Victoria is dead and buried now. The ratings the game would get will struggle to rival the Home Shopping Network. For once I think Nine would be justified in showing a couple of Two...

    Anzac TV war between codes

Appalling national coverage for the NATIONAL Rugby League. Perhaps Gallop should consider renaming it the NSWQRL or the NSWQNZRL?
