    yes - just keep the NRL growing strongly. If the odd union player wants to come over then great. As long as the NRL money is similar to what you can get in other codes the crossing over will be small I think in Australia at least there is high quality competition at junior level in rugby...

    the comments in that one seem actually fair and balanced. If someone in Japan decides they are going to offer a League winger who’s never played Union $2m to be their highest paid player and switch codes then there’s not much defending against that. Seems pretty unlikely though. The NRL salary...

    Yes - he does tend to play to the populist things that sound good and are easy like beer at the footy, toll caps and locally made procurement - even if they might not make a positive impact

    if anything, the NRL should give salary cup discounts to any player that choses to play for an international team that isn't Australia That way it could build up the international game and also allow discounts for RU players from outside Australia

    If current trends continue, then if you are Australian and currently play union professionally then - options in Australia are going to be limited (4 pro teams down from 5) - the amount you get paid for those pro teams is not going up by a lot - options to play overseas are becoming limited e.g...

    on another note - how easy must it be to get the olympics nowadays - you don't even need to know what stadiums you are going to have 3 years after been given the hosting duties Thankfully they still have 8 more years to decide

    having a legacy of olympics that includes 1. main stadium suitable for the most popular sports in the city that is used regularly 2. athletics stadium with modern facilities certainly beats what many other cities have ended up with
