    Broncos got smashed by Souths the week after we only just lost to them. I think we have enough of a form guide to say we’re a top 4 team, and if you’re in the top 4 you’re a decent shot. Especially this year when there’s no clear team thats a lot better than others.

    I wouldn’t give up hope just yet. We beat Souths and then only just lost to them, i think we were the better team in that game. And we only just lost to the Broncos. We can win the premiership this year, but it’s going to be a fair bit harder.

    I don‘t think depth is something we had much control over. Our bones have been picked over after winning two premierships, plus there’s been a new club added to the mix. We needed better focus on who we retained. We should’ve let Crichton walk earlier and keep Api.

    Luke will only be a placeholder until we find something better, I don’t think anyone is under illusions otherwise. But the fact is we didn’t do enough to sort the hooker position this year, it’s our biggest recruitment/retention blunder for some time.

    Yeah but we obviously now need to adapt. Even if we get a better hooker, they’re not going to be as good as Api.

    There’s little harm in trying Sommerton, though. Maybe not for a big match, but there’s plenty of games he could play to get a taste.

    It was Walker brothers doing it in the Queensland cup that brought it in. It’ll be interesting to see how teams adapt to it, more training might increase the odds for the attacking team.

    Sure, it’s a big part of his job. But having another kicker would still help the team. Does anyone know where Connor Mason is at? Could help our hooker problem and with kicking.

    He shouldn’t be. Hynes has been killing it for the past two seasons, plus he adds another kicker.

    Maybe, but it’s not just an issue of pressure as he’s kicking, It’s the pressure if being in the right spot every time. If he didn’t have to prioritise that in every set he might be able to play a little more freely.

    We need another kicker in the team, it’s too much pressure having the same guy take 95% of the kicks.
