    Still, no offense taken on my part.. I find speculation over branding (all aspects from jerseys to logos to names) fascinating, but I can see how that can flood a thread.. especially once photos get involved.

    Don't know for sure, but it honestly can't be a coincidence right? I think a similar design to this, maybe with a sea-green instead of a Raiders-ish lime & black instead of navy could be the way to go.

    Yeah...now I think about it, if they're just wearing black and white stripes maybe they should be playing in Napier? ;) Province-neutral would IMO be best.

    The key thing about all those jerseys is they have pretty even amounts of black and white - but I have a concern that if mostly black & white is the direction the Orcas take, it'll be yet another mostly-black home jersey & not balanced like the examples you cite.

    You raise a good point, and if a club today was to try something as groundbreaking as Penrith's 1991 rebrand from chocolate soldiers to allsorts (which is arguably the best brand revamp in the league's history), you'd have a massive outcry.

    Two colours that aren't used much in the NRL are orange and green. Teal & orange would be close to the Gold Coast Dolphins bid look.. and might be an interesting look. Teal and green could be worth considering, if they strike the right shades.

    Yeah, and to be honest a RELIABLE game or two per year from a Christchurch-based team is the best Wellington can hope for at this stage. I was thinking of a downside that it could preclude a Wellington-based team in the future.. BUT I think once NZ has 2 teams it's gonna be a long time...

    Well, with the Crusaders (Feb-May), the odd RU test match in June/July & Canterbury NPC in August to October, there's a gap from October to February where an A-league team could fit. I mean, they can't fill ALL that spring/summer time with concerts, trade shows & private bookings, right?

    I've seen lot of comments rating his kicking game, which is nice to hear because we've needed a good tactical kicker - with more in the repertoire than just "Hail Mary kick to the winger" - for some time.
