    That would seem exactly just about how much time you put thinking into it. Your brilliant idea would not only make Origin a second-rate spectacle but probably Pacific Tests as well. As is we can have the best of both worlds, as long as we have a dedicated end-of-year representative window.

    I doubt it very, very much. I suspect they (the ARLC) know exactly what they are doing by playing one potential bidder off against the other, which they can afford to do, when you`ve got a highly desirable product as is the next NRL franchise. And to cap it off, getting loads of free publicity...

    No they would receive their funding from the NSWRL and QRL who in turn receive funding from the NRL.

    Gee there`s a lot of doomsday merchants on these pages. Do you honestly believe that the ARLC are going to do something that will lead to a catastrophic reduction in the player numbers in a sport which probably draws 90% of its` participants from two states. I think they might have thought this...

    Could be part of an attempt to drive crowds, memberships and potential broadcast deals. Having reserve grade teams specifically aligned to an NRL club will increase brand awareness of those teams and may mean fans start to take more note of that competition.

    There all good sells mate, but no home games away from W.A. for me, this is after all a W.A. team, and should play all their home games in W.A. Possibly 81` GF replay in Darwin if Perth Reds (that`s what I`d call them) want to create some pathways up there.
