I'd be very comfortable stating more people watched the Storm in Melb last night then those watching the Swines in Sydney when STV is included .
There’s no question about it. Storm games have always rated really well on STV and a large part of that is because storm fans have been forced to get STV to watch the games.

It’s similar to comparing lions ratings on FTA to the storm. Have a look how their games rate on STV.

about 440K for the Brisb Derby , directly up against the 1st session of the cricket,
solid numbers

the other 2 weren't up against the cricket
about 360K for the middle game , tbf .. I'd say plenty turned over by 1/2 time rather then watching that rubbish in Townsville , i know i did

early game 275K
on par with most games not involving big clubs at this time slot

the fumbles & feebles ..... many many LOL's

Some sensational attacking football in that game. Even the Tigers tried to open up and play at times. Didn't come off, as is often the way when you're under the pump. RL can be cruel. No hiding place.

In Soccer, you can park the bus and keep the score down to 1-0, 2-0. Just as comprehensive a defeat, but looks superficially better on the scoreboard.

Wouldn't want every game to be like yesterday in Townsville. Wouldn't want every game to be tight and defence-dominated either. A healthy comp produces variety. There's plenty to enjoy in all types of game across a season. Blowouts are only a major problem if they become routine and expected.

Where's the evidence the bulk of NRL fans will follow internationals as keenly as club fixtures? Risky business putting the comp in hibernation every year. Leaves openings for rival sports.

Tests in Oct/Nov are an end-of-year bonus. Plus, generally better weather for games played in NZ.
Never understood this logic. Are you suggesting instead of watching nz v Samoa or Tonga v fiji and men’s and women’s origin rugby league fans are instead likely to turn on collingwood v st kilda and suddenly find afl appealing? It’s a very bizarre argument!

More than happy the Storm with little Melbourne promotion (and being around since 1998 -2023 26years )matches the Sydney Swarms with a mountain of promotion and media support (1982-2023. 42 years )on FTA in their respective home cities. 30K each.
To enjoy it even more it rams home to Bandana Head Fizdick who made the statement that will live in infamy and I repeat"The Storm will never survive after a ru team arrives in Melbourne and will have to relocate to the Central Coast".
I now understand his brain has been relocated from his arm pit to his rear end , fortunately not to the Central Coast.
