    18th club, whose next?

I think this is a real selling point for League in new areas. You just don`t get people the size and demeanour, in other sports that they play in those states, of some of the blokes that play League. When Origin was there every time Junior Paulo touched the ball or tackled someone the crowd...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

I really look forward to seeing the next batch of stars getting a run, so I`ll definitely be watching.

Dunderhead Billy Moore, the master of mixed metaphors and strategic planning, indicating the Bears will go just about anywhere to get back in the NRL, reiterating of course that it has to be on the Bears terms. Perhaps a clue there as well to his vision of a Pacifika Bears franchise, of course...

    NRLW - 2023

It is awful isn`t it. I saw one the other day where the player having run behind one of his own men, hst about 3 metres behind, froze on the spot, the defence line moved forward - past the player deemed to be obstructing - to confront him, and the ref still blew the whistle. He hadn`t bloody...

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

I think that`d be absolute madness and a real slap in the face for all the Warriors` fans that have made Go Media stadium " our house" this year. In future if you want first dibs at a finals ticket, become a member.

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

We have to be careful here that we don`t kill the goose that lays the golden egg. It`s great when you take a young family to the League and there is an area where kids can run off and play (and you know where they are) when their attention span starts to wane.

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

That`s amazing support for a new club sitting 14th on the ladder at the end of a long season. Can only imagine if they were fighting for a top 8 or 4 position. Certainly augurs well for them in the future.

Any idea how many got there early to catch the women`s game.

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Just like fumbleball has been doing for years to make themselves look better and more successful and League is finally waking up to make itself more appealing to sponsors et.al.

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Listening to the crowd during that game you could hear a lot of cheering for the Cowboys so I suspect that a lot of local neutrals turned up to witness two Qld teams going at it.. Another advantage of the extra Qld team.

I suppose the important thing for me is that the W.A. Govt`s working committee is consulting these communities even if only to gauge interest in a potential NRL team for the state. They certainly sound like they remain very serious and things are happening and that`s what I want to hear.

    18th club, whose next?

Back to more interesting things, headline in The Western Australian today: Rugby League: Could a future WA-based NRL side take their home games to regional centres? "The potential of a future WA-based National Rugby League team playing home matches in regional WA is presently being explored...

More proof that the NRL got it right

Certainly agree with your first statement but I`m not sure whether I buy into this expanding too fast excuse. Most of those girls would have been playing f-ball at a local level all their life, probably no different to the NRLW women and let`s face it even at 10 teams the quality has really been...

More proof that the NRL got it right

No I didn`t necessarily agree with it either, but for me it was an example of what fumbleball HQ have created and have got themselves up against. Don`t take this the wrong way but it strikes me by empowering the women too early and filling their heads with notions of grandeur with regards how...

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

I think the Titans` crowds would have been helped by the rise of that young Campbell fella and the winger Pereira both of whom are home grown and real crowd pleasers, throw in Brimson, Tino, Clarke and Fifita who have both been trying their guts out, and I`m not surprised the Titans have got a...

Actually for the vast majority of its history China felt that the west had absolutely nothing to offer it that it couldn`t produce itself. It was the British who forced them to open up and trade with the rest of the world, better known as the Opium wars. We shouldn`t discount that if things...

    2023 NRLW

No temptation to laugh here at all when Gould complained that officials had become too "pedantic" when it came to seeking out knock-ons and were ruining the flow of the game. This from the self-awareness lacking big-head who popularised the term bobble and the expression " I think I saw a little...

I think that`s a bit of a stretch, Australia is widely recognised as a being a world leader in the mining industry, you don`t get that sort of reputation by having too many Nathan Tinkler`s. Two other points, interesting that Mining N.S.W. has become a major sponsor of Newcastle`s NRLW team, I...
