    RLWC 2025

That’s all very reasonable. This would be a great event for those individual nations to spend some Tourism budget on and couple that with a bit of Aus government diplomacy funding. As I have stated many times already, funding an NRL team for diplomatic reasons would be a noose around any...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Got to agree with that. I don’t think the SCG Trust were interested in anything more than 50-55k though were they? So they would have needed some encouragement to take it up to 85k.

W When you say it’s preferable to wait in order to gauge interest, gauge interest from who exactly? You don’t think a Fijian, Samoan, PNG or Tongan home WC fixture would sell out?

    PNG's back.

Only in PNG or the Pacific I would hope.

Why are they playing a game out of GC and 7 more in Brisbane? Why not just all out of PNG?

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Irrelevant if they can't hold on to them or are lacking other resources that make them as a whole a premiership threat. Lol, premiership threat. You guys haven’t won a premiership for almost 40 years

    PNG's back.

    S sounds better to me.

    PNG's back.

I I question whether they could make up for it in rich sponsorships. Just because there are rich mining operations in PNG, I don’t believe they would get value out of sponsoring a NRL team to the tune of fortunes.

What would be so PNGian about a club that plays in Brisbane or Cairns or any-bloody-where else?

    Does it?

    PNG's back.

Nowhere, there will be no Fijian NRL team.
  13. Ideas Man Stephen

    PNG's back.

Sure sure, but having a Fijian NRL team would be a bonkers idea. Let them keep playing in the NRL for the existing clubs and build them a first rate pathway for grassroots in Fiji for the number of Fijians represented in the NRL to increase. A club team based in Aus is an Aus team, not Fijian...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

You talk like a NY Giants fan claiming NFL supremacy is near because of the size of the city they play out of. You talk about performance, the Sharks have appeared in 15 seasons of NRL to Parramatta and they have won one more premiership than the Eels. You talk as if Parramatta are a club with...

    PNG's back.

Exactly. Any team based in Australia is an Australian team. You can dress them in Black, Red and Yellow all you like, it will still be an Australian team.
  17. Ideas Man Stephen

    PNG's back.

Largest sponsorships. Haha, yeah right. They’ll have government sponsorship and the rest will be drastically less valuable than any other NRL club.

    PNG's back.

T They would be better off focusing energy on the pathways and facilities first and foremost. Far more affordable and by far, more suitable to the government’s Pacific agenda. I am still left wondering how a club based in Australia, can assist government relations in the Pacific. Baffled actually.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Yeah, I haven’t lived there since 2019. We were on McDonald St. Those apartments right across from the park at Cronulla Beach were due to go up. There were the ones on Ozone, even the one near the Sailing Club was finally getting completed. The future looks very bright for the Sharks. I always...
