    2019 Crowd Watch

Your home average is your home average, no matter when it's played, no stupid exclusions. If you have generated ways to maximize your crowds through event games then all the power to you. The rest of the sooks can suck it up and lift their own game and find ways to improve their numbers.

    2019 Crowd Watch

It would be disappointing if there was a drop in crowds on last year considering the new stadium would have expected to give a handy little bump to the average? There is a case that the unavailability of Allianz had an impact. Is the end number for the Roosters and other Allianz tenants...

Would probably get more Sydney siders showing up to that than a game of RL

    2019 Crowd Watch

Whilst understanding the nerve Perth can pinch with the sharks at times, there is a point that there can be no complaints about scheduling at good times when the crowds don't respond in numbers to the games that are on at an attractive time. How is that sending a message to the NRL? If the NRL...

    2019 Crowd Watch

The original point made by Perth was poor crowds in prime crowd timeslots not giving the NRL any incentive to create key match ups in traditionally attractive times for attendances.

    2019 Crowd Watch

Forgive my potential ignorance, but didn't the NRL used to have a floating fixture in the latter stages of the year? Is that still part of how the fixture is built still? The AFL have done that only recently for the last round to dictate key match ups for the last round as well as factor in...

    2019 Crowd Watch

13,000 in Melbourne? You mean that one Thursday night game in May? We average 19.5k for home games this year so far, hardly 'brown stuff' type numbers

24 rounds is way too many

Reducing to 22 rounds and stand alone weekends for SOO (with additional content across those weekends) sounds like a very workable outcome. Would it be better to spread out those stand alone weekends across a few months so the momentum of the season is not lost? One weekend in May, June and July...

    2019 Membership

I remember there was talk about a football department cap for NRL to follow the AFL model for 2018. A discussion for another thread perhaps, but has this not been brought in? I can't find anything on it officially. The NRL should have just pulled some of those funds and kept allocating it to...

    2019 Membership

"Hope". Genius leadership if the NRL in any way have an expectation of how that extra money is spent without any firm, official direction.

    2019 Membership

You know what, it may be full of shite, but what if it's not? What if investing in programs and staff to engage an area actually results in better fan connection? Perth comments that the NRL have withdrawn membership funding, which if true, is stupid. It's a great way to get people connected and...

    Crowd Watch perth offcuts

Because the heartland of rugby league is going so very well with crowd numbers..... Clearly the only city that has local sports playing on weekends and those shopping centre sales must be booming this time of year. Even an established Perth team could stake claim to getting 10-15k+ crowds...

    2019 Crowd Watch

No wonder our education standards are slipping with this breed teaching our next generation  What Newton does seem to do well is make events of games and appeal that its about more than just the footy, its an event. I go to games largely to catch up with family and friends and whilst the...

    2019 Crowd Watch

You don't like merkins stating opinions as facts and calling others ignorant when they don't agree? Quite entertaining reading people believe their unsubstantiated arguments are reality

    2019 Crowd Watch

BBL has had a little drop off but one big issue they made was increasing the number of games, diluting the product. The season felt like it just dragged on. AFL average after 16 rounds is at 35.9k, up from 35.1k this time last year. Crowds at the expansion teams are down but overall, tracking...

    2019 Crowd Watch

Sure its a Queensland 'Derby', but is there a rivalry there that warrants a bigger crowd than normal? The distance from TSV to the GC is more than 1.6 times the distance from Sydney to Melbourne....

NRL on Melbourne FTA is a joke

Or the AFL do a better job at impacting competitor market penetration? If the NRL employed people with bigger balls, then maybe we'd be able to see more games down here and on the main 9 channel other than SOO and Finals.

    2019 Crowd Watch

Not great crowd pullers the sharks, but I agree, a pub hol today should have seen a real boost to the crowd number compared to normal Thursday night fixture

    2019 Crowd Watch

Even have a public holiday the next day and couldn’t build a respectable crowd number. Excuses? People on holidays? Traffic? Big shopping sales on? AFL was a little anomaly but still makes you wonder about the big difference.

    2019 Crowd Watch

With a pub hol tomorrow this is as good a chance as any to get a good Thursday crowd
