Match Discussion: Round 20 vs Brisbane @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Yeah, I do wonder how much of that was just him playing like shit and acting like a cat. I guess we'll see.

Match Discussion: Round 20 vs Brisbane @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Yeah it's less about us making the finals for me at this stage and more about just not wanting to be the Broncos springboard to the finals.

Match Discussion: Round 20 vs Brisbane @ McDonald Jones Stadium, New Lambton / Awabakal

Oh that's just grim. Fingers crossed it's a desperation move and they're all quite underdone, because I can absolutely see them coming back and it sparking the Broncos surge to the finals. And of course, that would begin against us. Because of course it would.

    Rumoured Targets 3

Hetherington has done absolutely nothing to deserve a starting jersey, and he's had his shots at starting too. Athlete or not, the bloke has no ticker. He can rot in cup if he doesn't like the bench imo.

A freight train would not have stopped Bradman scoring that try once he had the ball firm in his grasp. The only people in the game with the strength and weight to stop him would not have had the speed or endurance to be anywhere near the play.

    Rumoured Targets 3

Maybe. Expect Brisbane to go all-in too. He's infinitely more likely to go to either of them, but regardless of all of that you've gotta be in the fight. Ponga wouldn't be here if we folded without trying. Pearce never would have come (and let's leave the Pearce discourse out of it y'all, I'm...

Not a fan of Maps at this stage, he just hasn't shown anything to suggest he's a first grader and has been around a long time. I suspect injuries have cruelled any chance at a first grade career he may have had. Has he been killing it in Cup this year or something? I just don't see an NRL player...

The old boy has nothing left to prove mate. He's done us good. If we manage to get one more good year out of him we've done exceptionally well from here, that would be the cherry on top. It's up to the club to have a good succession plan for him now and ease in some new talent. Given that we...

    Rumoured Targets 3

I can't see it personally, but he keeps pushing through the glass ceilings I put above him in my mind so who knows. What he does have, and no-one can take away from him, is heart.... and whilst ever rugby league is a sport of physicality, endurance and attrition - it's a quality that can carry...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Not possibly, I'd say *comfortably* the best boot in the game at the time and one of the form players of the competition. Boyd had a lot to do with it as well, but Hornby was an honest player that played a bit of Origin and for his country at least once too. Not a flashy or typical halfback...

    Rumoured Targets 3

I think the essence of what Gus is saying is pretty true though. There's not too many poor premiership winning halfbacks, and most oftentimes it's the top tier of halves getting the bickies. Chad Townsend in 2016 sticks out in my head as a bit of an anomaly, but he was playing well at the time...

All is forgiven when you have a hero moment like that. He had a few really big moments outside of that as well and worked hard. The drop balls probably bring an 11/10 down to an 8/10 or something i guess.

KP won't have any trouble backing up. Bradman and Gags likely to be stuffed but I don't see why they wouldn't back up either, we need them. We don't play until Sunday, so plenty of time to rest up. I don't think he'll cop that much. As you said, limited opportunities and it's not like Walsh...

Bradman made both his club teammates look like absolute mugs, as expected. Great that none of them are injured, although Braddys lip is going to need a few stitches, lol. So happy for Best. One of our few homegrown talents truly living up to their potential. I don't know how they can leave him...

Does anyone else fear for Gags tonight? I'm not sure who will win the match overall, but I can't see how Bradman won't give him an absolute bath if he gets some ball tonight. Bradman is exactly the kind of player that Gags struggles with. I hope he doesn't get humiliated badly enough that it...

Match Discussion: Round 19 vs Manly @ 4 Pines Park, Brookvale / Cammeraygal

Pretty embarassing, wholly expected result. Just wish they held their gloves up better than that.

No energy after that Sharpe break whatsoever. And that's 8 minutes into the half, fatigue no excuse.
