If Crichton is selected, then they might even start Martin at second row, instead of him coming off the bench. Then it would be Yeo, Cleary, Martin, Crichton to combine on right hand side plays.

Was just a tongue in cheek comment. I couldn’t care less whether Barrett succeeds or fails as coach of the Bulldogs. But I do tend to feel a bit sorry for whichever coach is the sucker of the week copping all the Foxtel/News Ltd preplanned headline grabbing media beat up for that particular week.

    Round 5 vs Bulldogs

I agree that this bench is only until Leota returns, then it will be a choice of Kenny or Salmon as the utility.

    Round 5 vs Bulldogs

Sorry mate... too many beers! I meant to respond to your previous post: “Well it looks like the bench is going to be as listed. If we get an injury in the forwards it could get interesting. Real poor team selection“

    Round 5 vs Bulldogs

He has taken over Mays role who can slot in at halves, centre and second row. Who else at this stage and of their career development can cover the positions he can cover?

    Round 5 vs Bulldogs

That team selection has got us to 5 and 0 though, so hard to argue with the results. It enables option to cover most in game HIA’s and injuries and still get the win

I almost feel sorry for Barrett given all the shit he has copped this week, both pre and post Gould’s comments......almost....but then I think of the fact he was walked out on us twice and then I think nah...f**k him!

    Season 2022

The problem with that is how do we have the salary cap to sign an experienced centre to be a back up playing in NSW Cup, and still have enough space to resign the likes of Hopgood, Taylan May, O'Sullivan, Lindsay Smith, Turuva and Salmon who are all unsigned for next season. Plus upgrade before...

Penrith Panthers V South Sydney (otherwise known as the wabbits)

The problem is though that he has spent the last 2 seasons being coached by the supposed master coach and man manager Bennett, but has never look more unfit. So who is the right coach that can change his attitude to training and get him fit and playing at his best?

Penrith Panthers V South Sydney (otherwise known as the wabbits)

Most on here understood the reasoning and were fine with the decision towards the end of the season to have Momo centre and Crichton wing for the RHS combo. Those that were against it were just very vocal about it, which would of made it seem like there were more against it than actually were.

Penrith Panthers V South Sydney (otherwise known as the wabbits)

The better sides all attack more and score more tries on their LHS. Which is why Ivan went for the best defensive combo of Momo and Crichton on the RHS for the finals and GF last year. If Crichton and Staines keep defending we’ll as a combo between now and when To’o returns, I just can’t see...

It looked like he picked up a minor injury after being tackled and was moving gingerly for a while

Penrith Panthers V South Sydney (otherwise known as the wabbits)

May has been great in attack, but I wouldn’t break up the strong Crichton/Staines defensive combo they are forming on the RHS.

    Round 3 V Newcastle

I think Crichton has been impressive when at fullback considering how little he has played there and the fact he is learning on the job. He has shown glimpses in attack of his speed and footwork that Edwards can’t match. Im not saying to replace Edwards with Crichton though. Just that I’m...

You want Jennings to play as a starting second row if Smith is out? That’s a bold call!

    Other games

TPJ showed he can play the tough prop role at the Panthers. We probably wouldn’t have made it to the grand final without him. But whether Barrett can get the best out of him like Ivan was able to remains to be seen.

I was stupid enough to pick them this week. I thought they played well against the Panthers last week and if the sin bin over the O’Sullivan Tackle didn’t happen we would of struggled to beat them. But alas, I pick them this week and they don’t show up and get flogged

I’m a bit surprised that O’Neill failed to be re-elected given he was the one who brought Ivan back to the club and all the success that has resulted over the last 2 years. Not that I care, he had too many other shortcomings, but I thought that would of kept him safe for a short while.

    2022 Rnd 1 Panthers V Manly 10th March 2022 Penrith Park

Given Jennings played centre and May and Jenkins wing, I’d say it will be Jennings first in at centre if Tago or Crichton gets injured

Plus Luai in only 2 years of playing as a starting half, has played in 2 grand finals winning one of them, and won a state of origin series.
